**Nova Assists:
1.Horizontal Assists.**
Easily one of, if not the, most important thing Nova needs, horizontal coverage is a must in any optimized Nova team. If someone is having trouble approaching/getting in these are the assists they should be looking at.
1a. Beams.
Personally I consider these to be best three horizontal assists for Nova, not just for their beam but the other benefits they provide Nova.
Strange Bolts of Balthak
Pros:
Bolts offers full horizontal coverage
Lasts long, providing ample opportunity to mixup
Access to FoF loops either trough Spencer support(more reliable) or Human Rocket hard tag (less reliable)
Bolts is not a true blockstring
Ok anchor
Cons:
Lasts long, making it easy for Strange to get sniped
The pause in between bolts is long enough for the opponent to react
Bolts are high enough to allow small characters to avoid it altogether
Not cheap enough
Doom Plasma Beam
Pros:
Full horizontal coverage with Beam
Fast startup on beam allowing you to snipe with it
Good duration allowing you to mixup
Raw tags after throws
Damaging vertical dhc
TAC infinite
Safe DHC on block
Very powerful with assists
Cheap (foodie!!)
Cons:
Subpar anchor altogether, loses out to the most common anchors
Beam knocks back
Beam scales considerably
Iron Man Unibeam
Pros:
Full horizontal coverage
Beam leaves opponents standing
Beam doesn’t scale too badly
Good duration on beam
TAC infinite
Hard hitting dhc
Raw tags after throws
Good damage output
Cons:
Low tier character, nowhere cheap enough
Weakest at anchor position
Needs assists to cover his weaknesses
Harder to get optimal damage with than other fly characters(Doom, Magnus, Nova himself)
M.O.D.O.K. Psionic Blast
Full horizonal coverage
TAC infinites
OK DHC, Head Charge could be safe by moving away.
Killer Illumination is always a good counter DHC
Air throw raw tag combo
Can otg after DHC with Nova assist
Cons:
Beam scales badly
Beam doesnt last long
1b. Projectiles.
Taskmaster H Arrows
Pros:
Arrows travel full screen
Arrows are slow(allowing Nova to dash behind them, stay long enough on screen)
Arrows dont knock back
Arrows dont scale badly
Arrows come in threes, giving it good durability
Arrows have good startup
Solid character
Damaging vertical DHC
One of the highest life totals (1m100k)

Long duration, allowing ample opportunities to mixup
Drones travel full screen
Drones can be used to either open people up or extend combos

Easy to snipe

Cons:
Low or low-mid tier character

Rocket Raccoon Spitfire
Pros:
Spitfire travels the full screen
Spitfire locks the opponent down reasonably well (?)
Excellent DHC. Rock n Roll does a lot of damage for DHC
Unblockable setups for Nova
Can duck under most attacks standing up
Falls out of combos often given his small size
Cons:
Second lowest health in the game (750k)
Low damage output (?)
2. DHCs.
While Nova hits like a grown ass man his damage output is not enough to kill off any touch on his own, so he often needs to rely on DHCs to get the kill. If someone is having trouble with his combos not guaranteeing the kill these are the assists they should be looking at.
Spencer Wire Grapple (Slant Shot)
Pros:
Allows Nova to kill off any touch trough DHC
Arguably the best combo assist for Nova
Allows to combo into crumple

Dormammu Liberation
Pros:
Dhc into Stalking Flare can help Nova kill anyone off nearly any touch
Very powerful character
Ok anchor
Can make good use of Nova assist(Centurion Rush)
TAC infinite
Cons:
All his assists are nearly worthless for Nova, best one being liberation for combo extension, despite appearances Dark Hole doesnt do anything for Nova
To really establish his zoning or rushdown game he needs assists of his own to help him
TAC infinite is impractical
Trish Low Voltage, Peekaboo
Pros:
DHC into Round Harvest can allow Nova to get a kill off almost any hit on almost any character
Round Harvest can help set up unblockables with Nova assist (Centurion Rush)

Better on point
3.Lockdown
Nova has quite a few tools to help him both get in, or keep out, but to get the most out of them he needs help in controlling space and locking the opponent down as he particularly shines against grounded opponents. If someone feels they have trouble getting their game started and pinning their opponent down, these are the assists they should be looking at.

Subpar DHCs and combo extensions for Nova

Jam Session provides full vertical coverage
Jam Sessions’ hitbox is wide
