Just go to My Computer, Control Panel, Display, Click Theme, change theme to Windows Classic, then click the Apperence tab and fool around.

I use something my friend showed me to keep my desktop clean. Just right click and uncheck “Show Desktop Icons”, and create a “Desktop” quick launch thing in start bar. So much cleaner.
