Tried it. You can only save your recording as some kind of flash file, and it’s very choppy on playback :sad:
Yeah, to upload it, you have to create a “screencast” account, and upload it there.
I’ve recorded demonstrations of me doing things when I was in grad school, so I don’t know about animations.
That said, they make some high-end software that I use at my job called “Camtasia” which I’m sure would work fine.
