How do you people change the icon colors in the OSX dock? Is there a program I need to download or is it hidden somewhere in the preferences?

There’s mine. Unusually clean, believe it or not.
now.
It’s ridiculously simple
1.) Open the .png file in preview (transparent image/icon)
2.) Select all + copy
3.) Right click + Get info on the application you want to change
4.) Click on the icon on the top left
5.) cmd + v and the .png copy will show up
6.) Done
You can cmd+copy the icon in the get info pane as well for either .png or .icns files
