That is a nice minty SF2:CE cab, makes me want to play my SF2:CE board on my Supergun

I’m really digging that Pinball cabinet. That would be awesome to have if I had the money to burn to build one. Of course gutting an old one like you did would be easier, but I would still have to get the LCD’s and the dedicated PC.

One day…

OMG and it has Cyclone! Wow, that one brings back memories. There was a store near where I lived that had that machine 11 years ago when I was 14, and me and a bunch of guys would challenge each other’s high scores and were trying to beat the high score on the machine. The jackpot was maxed out on it, so I was trying to get it. I think I played on that machine every day that summer, practicing. I got good enough that I could hit the 100K hole on launch every time.

Finally, one day in late July, I got the jackpot, and scared everyone to death in the place when I started screaming in joy. Shattered the old high score on the game, the competition abruptly ended, I was declared the winner.

Would LOVE to play that one again for nostalgia’s sake.

Just for you Missing Person

That’s what the actual table looks like on my cab. One of these pinball cabs is not cheap and most of the money is locked down in screens alone. My 37" Vizio 1080p LCD cost me $500, Samsung 24" Samsung LCD monitor cost me $380 (back in May '08) but now 24" can be had for $150-200 and the 15" HP LCD was FREE! Some people have playfield screens as big as 46"! But I was limited to my cabinet as I am not very crafty with wood and believe it or not pinball legs, lockdown bar, stainless steel side rails, glass, etc… all brand new from pinball life ran well over $400! I paid only $150 for my donor cab which came with all that and a cab to house everything. These cabs were built to last cause it is not made from MDF but solid pine. This cab is older then me lol. Again if anyone has any questions about it feel free to shoot me a message or check out my build thread here.

Also you don’t need a dedicated cab like me to enjoy your old tables. Here is the 4:3 version and all you need to do is download the table and ROM from vpforums.org.

Check my build thread in the first few posts I outline how to setup Visual Pinball and Vpinmame. When you install the software you will get to a point in my thread where I start talking about a cabinet version of the Vpinmame.dll file, just ignore that and use the standard one. The reason why you need the cabinet version is because you are running more than one screen and it will remember which screen you dragged the DMD score board to.

Cleaned up the man cave, built some new shelves, found a beer fridge to go in too.

Special thanks to my awesome wife who not only approves of the man cave, but helped fund and build parts of it, as well as took the photos.

^HOLY COW…that’s truly an awesome man cave

That’s pretty mindblowing.

Sweet pinball rig

How does it feel to be playing “virtual” pinball though compared to the real thing? I never really dug virtual pinball but loved the real thing. However with a setup like that I am sure it helps go a long way to get that true feeling and of course just like mame you have a lot of flexibility and variety.

That’s a total man cave right there, that was also sweet looking cake…My asian wife would never allow me to have a room looking like that…

That mancave is fucking amazing. Giving me ideas man!!

and this thread still isnt stuck why ?

excuse my ignorance, but what’s going on here?

Looks like a project box type setup.

The PCB is located on the outside of the stick, for whatever reason, some kind of DB connector going between the PCB box and the control box? RJ-45 is going to the GC port on the Wii.

I have posted this on a couple of threads buy hey … it’s kinda relevant. This is my re-furbished 80’s style cab with a MvsC 2 theme. Oh and I cheated, I took out the jamma stuff and the CRT and replaced with an LCD and MAME’d the shit out of it! :stuck_out_tongue: (ignore the background lol, its in my garage!)

I love that cab man. So great!

This thread should be a sticky.
