@Dash, thanks mate! We like very little clutter in the house which is difficult with kids but we recently had a purge and got rid of loads of stuff we’ accumulated over the years. Everything is now in cabinets and hidden away.i’ll be investing in a Harmony one RF remote at some point as all the av equipment is in the cabinets under the tv so can’t be operated by IR. very well. The IR extender is picking up interference from the plasma which is a well known problem.
@tokerblue. They’re Kef Reference 3’s for the mains, a Kef 200c for the centre and Kef 34-TDM-DS’s for the rears. The main pair of speakers has a Meridian 557 stereo amp drivng them, the centre has a Meridian 505 monobloc and the rears have a meridian 556 stero power amp. There’s also a Meridian 565 CD unit, a Meridian 562V multimeda controler and a Meridian 596 transport forCDs. The Kef’s are great speakers which I can’t see me ever replacing unless they get damaged. I’m in the market for a new sub as the REL I have isn’t a very good match and isn’t too hot on music reproduction. I’ll take some pics of the av kit in the cabinets later.
- I have the Harmony One (non-RF) and it’s a great remote. One of the best for ergomonics that I’ve ever used.
- Kef makes great speakers. It’s too bad you’re not in the U.S. There are a lot of really great internet direct subwoofer companies here (Epik, Hsu Research, SVS). I’m not sure if they ship internationally, but their prices are fantastic and they will outperform any retail subwoofer.

I’m no arcade purist, but personally I don’t think an xbox + emulators is any substitute for a an origial arcade setup. But that’s just me… I say that as someone who IS actually putting a pc in a blast city cab, but I would never do it at the expense of the original functionality. It’s still wired to play jamma/jvs/naomi via the original game hardware without having to change anything, so that’s the perfect compromise for me. Can play original game boards when people are over, and ggpo, sf4 or whatever online with the sit-down cab experience. cost a…little bit more than a 40$ xbox, but totally worth it imo. I’ll post up some pics when it’s finished.
I keep the xbox +emus setup for the console stuff (which is another interesting thing- playing console emus on an arcade cab like some people do is the same as playing mame on an xbox from a controller to me…just wacky 
) Not dissing anyone if that’s your style, but I like to keep the experience as close to my original memories as possible.
my SF cabinet
I got this cabinet back in the day when SF2 first was out in the arcade. It’s actually a Captain America and the Avengers cabinet in which the distributor customized it for SF2. Right now it has my xbox 360 in it for some SF4 action(as well as for SSF4 in about 3 weeks) :bgrin:

As you can see, I’m much more into my toys but SF has been a fave of mine ever since I saw my brother play SF II Champion Edition in the arcades, then months later, we got a SNES + SFII as the first game!
Gotta move the book shelf around, making way for another Ikea Detolf glass cabinet for incoming toys…
If only Capcom made a Masked Rider/Kamen Rider game, it would be a money maker in Japan!
