We should actually ask people to bring fans if this happens during the summer again. People actually left to buy shorts.
I brought my own fan (a fucking Vornado)… there was at least one industrial fan and 5 others, and the place was still baking fools. I really don’t know how much bringing more fans will help with only one exit (didn’t really notice any other places to vent air outta there).
Yeah, if it was possible to open all those windows, the fans might do some good. The windows are not openable as far as I could tell. :lame:
Crackfiend, I know it’s farther for you bay area cats, but think about the Great Escapes Games in sac for a venue. I’m sure you remember how huge that place was, and they had plenty of chairs and tables and what not.
I’m on board with the break from tournaments.
 Well I love these tournies. So HYPE!!! I would love to see another one in late august but if we wait I wouldn’t want to see the wait being longer then September. I can understand wanting to take a month break b/c I host a big event myself so afterwards I can understand if you want to take a break.
I strongly hope that consistency of these tournies will help build up norcal’s strength further.
As for venue sense fuddruckers is free I’d stay with that for now until you can find a better place for free (which is definitely not easy :shake::sad: :lame: ) b/c those are very hard to find. We’ve been looking into other venues in the past as well for our conventions.
I like Fuddruckers. Free venue, a decently sized room for big tournaments, good burgers, it’s in a town that almost everyone can get to, and after August the weather should be better, which would work well with Vitto, Thrust and everyone else who wants a break. I think until someone can find a better location, Fuddruckers is a good enough place for tournies.
tournament.
my place.
every month.
31st.
gogogo.
I don’t see 160+ people fitting in your apartment Long!
Dont spoil the fun!!! Lets have a BIG tourney every week lol!!!
cracks house? longs house? hiros house ?
20 adults = 160 midgets
gogogo. xD
160+ players every week at long’s apartment. let’s go!
Let’s get some people together and invest in starting an arcade and have bi-weekly ranbats. It could be the location where all the SF4, BB, GG, KoF, Tekken, etc. players go to get their game on, sort of like how PC gamers have LAN centers.
Along with what most of everyone has been saying, take a short break from tourneys. I’m with you when I say, I’m somewhat burnt out after Evo.
Also, I think bi-monthly would be a little too much, especially for people from out of town (like us Fresno folks). Just keep it the usual monthly. That way it gives people some rest time inbetween as well and to keep their interests in the game.
Sounds like a great idea. Me and my friends tried doing the same in Fresno. Except our scene isn’t as big as NorCal’s; the only reason we never followed through with it. If you guys do this, more power to you.
I understand when everyone says how they’re burnt out after Evo or what not, but after every single tournament I go to I just want to play more and get better as fast as possible, especially after Sunnyvale yesterday. I need that top eight.
keep it going. more tournies!
dude i was near heat exhaustion, i dont know how many times i asked you who you were…
i say have a tourney every sunday lol!!!
i really love the payout of my MM station
atleast 30-40 dollars an hour LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Lets go Justin?
I understand the drive behind what you’re saying. But the thing is, so many serious players in NorCal have this mentality. There were over 180 participants this last Fuddruckers. And how many people actually ran the show? (Here’s a hint, I can count them with my fingers)
I’m not blaming anyone who has the spirit to keep playing the game. That’s great shit, and I love to see guys just fucking represent. BUT, I’m worried about the guys running the show. I’d love to see more people actually running things, and learning to run things well. It’s a lot of energy to take the time to play Street Fighter and strategize, but it takes even more energy and planning to make the events like Fuddruckers happen for the community.
Uncle Ono says “I WANT YOU for the Street Fighter planning commitee”.
