It’s simply unparryable, 'cause they made it that way. I remember seeing a video of a dude, blocking the first one and then red parrying every second hit of the shockwave… Don’t remember which video it was, though…

Not on video, but I did that myself a couple of times when they tried to chip me with KKZ but I had enough health to survive the 1st blocked hit. It’s not a situation that arises often, but it holds a top-tier cool factor :looney:. And while it’s no piece of cake, it’s not that hard to do either

Arlieth parrys the whole thing in the team makoto dojo vid, and there is a family fun tourney vid where JR tries to chip Reza-O with KKZ, and Reza-O parries the whole thing.
^ I’d have to see that to believe it. The computer won’t even parry it on auto parry.
Off-topic question: At 1:25, why is it that it Akuma parries Chun SA2 8-8-1 in that vid, when it’s supposed to be 7-7-1 for shotos?

You must remember it wrong. First hit cannot be parried. If you’re positive you saw that, I’m positive I saw Gigas being parried back in the day :arazz:
I’m not looking at the vid but I’m assuming it’s cuz Gouki’s in the corner.
I doubt the whole thing is being parried but I think it’s possible that they’re both parrying from the second hit on out.
