do this shitt texas hold’em style til bitches fade out! :looney:
Regardless, this will be an amazing event…I just hope the 24 hour food place is close to the ballroom
Just let people know ahead of time where they are in the bracket and when they might possibly be playing, or at least if they’re soon or not soon… then they can prepare.
I assume Evo will be in one or both of big rooms on this map. Looks like maybe a five minute walk, shouldn’t be too bad. Hopefully it won’t be too expensive, though…
Still looking for volunteers to help out in case it gets too big too handle. I think that the staff is very capable of running the tournament but volunteers would help to make this a great experience for everybody. I am sure that the SRK staff is appreciative of the people that have initially said that they would help out. Hopefully the tournament does get 1000 people. Even the tournament organizers would like to enjoy themselves. Running pools is great because you get to meet so many players from different places.

whatever happens, i can’t imagine there not being some growing pains this evo. just like when we had a surge of new srk sign ups a few months ago.
but we’ll learn from it. and subsequent evos will be that much more awesomes.
ok dude, im not gonna get into some flame war with you cause obviously you arent very coherent. in regards to your “having a schedule” many attempts have been made to have a set schedule but for some reason you dont get the idea that this never works out. do you not understand that anything involving human interaction cannot be completely scheduled? there are a ton of reasons for this but if you cant figure it out i can no longer argue and help you here. you also mention i am working against this effect of running a smooth tourney yet have 0 clue what you are talking about when mentioning anything about me. you think you have a clue? cmon man, just by thinking you can put in some advice which you find great or whatever, you think you are solving an issue that many people have worked on for years to improve. its all fine and dandy thinking you can just DQ no shows, and DQ people who dont reply to their name being called in a huge convention, but the fact of the matter is people are human and sometimes mistakes happen. no matter how much preparation and thought goes into it, problems occur and yes they are unforeseen. just by you posting your thoughts over and over and over thinking you have the answer you are basically shitting on the people who run it. shadow is attempting to organize people to run brackets and etc, but not to rain on his parade, this is never an issue and there are many people already willing to run it. anyways, come back when you might have a real solution, aka, donating 20 monitors and setting up a system sort of like the DMV that shows what # is supposed to be a what window…
remove anything 3s or GG related. less filler please.
Watson trying to blow up my spot.
Man uppppp.
Capping attendance would be so sucky =[
How about the Olympics or any single sports event in the world? You make a schedule, you throw in a little margin of safety, and you make a B plan if things go wrong. I’m pretty sure Evo does something like this, and it is of course much better than going for it with no plan at all.
Watson, don’t worry about raining on my parade. I always plan ahead and if it turns out that no one is needed to help then that is fine. I think to grow as a community more people need to be involved. Whether it is running pools or donating equipment I think only positive things can come from more people being active.
alphazealot, I think that you must realize that EVO is a tournament for the players. While this thread only focuses on one game, the important thing is that players have their say. I think that this thread has been good in addressing the problems that occur within the pools and hopefully this year it will be much better.
Olympics is a billion $ industry and it takes two weeks.
The Olympics isn’t really open access either, you gotta qualify to represent your country/team before you even hit the main event. Thus shrinking the pool of contestants by that much.
MAN UP, I wanna see back to back ass kickin’!
man up… this is evo
Watson’s blood boiling in yet another thread. He’s going to take all that anger out on SFIV at Evo.
Hey how about span SFIV throughout all 3 days.
Hold half of the pools/brackets on one friday and the other half on saturday.
QFT and also HDR. HDR is so old that when it was out Mortal Kombat actually was popular…
HD Remix came out November of last year…:wtf:
