POLL & UPDATE: Hori USA To Bring A NEW RAP Premium VLX In The US!

I think that’s for the JDM version, not the U.S. version. (look at that price!) & if it is the U.S. version then there’s no way I’m paying $460+ for it!!!

I’d really like to own one of these but for less than $300…hoping for US release…no word from e3 yet?

I’m starting to get irritated by the lack of news on behalf of Hori. If a pre-order is about to go down in these next few days they should give us some official notice on when and where pre-orders will open so I don’t have to constantly check the webstore based on the rumor on a chance to own this.

Me too.

HORI must be LOL at this moment. A fucking over-over-overpriced product and they’ve got everybody going crazy about it. Kudos for them, their marketing department rocks.

Check this out: http://www.collider.com/wp-content/uploads/E3-2010-image-34.jpg.

someone give me news, i want to play the shit out of this crispy ass stick!

Thanks for that. $300. About right. Was that at the E3 Hori booth?
Sure it is over priced, but it has a really clean hinge design. I dig that. I’m constantly fucking with my sticks. Not so bad when you think back to when TE sticks where going for $300 on ebay when they where “Limited Edition”

Actually, I pulled it off the Collider site. I wasn’t there. I found the picture when I was browsing through peripherals.
I don’t mod or collect fightsticks (heck, I only own the Wii Fighting Stick), but I told myself I’d want to get a good, solid stick for the PS3.
And this is it!

I think VLX stick is coming out on July 1. That what saying on Hori.jp site

I’m a little weary of this stick after seeing this video…

Scroll down towards the bottom - there’s a VLX gameplay video:

http://www.4gamer.net/games/099/G009926/20100425001/

You can see the control panel bending & flexing with normal joystick use. Watch the light reflections in the surface… they’re dancing around when it bends. That is unacceptable on what should be the king of all sticks, considering the price.

I was sure I never saw that happen on a stick before, so I checked all my sticks, HRAPs, TE, V3-SA, HSS-0130, etc. and sure enough, metal control panels do not flex like that under normal or heavy use.

I think this is happening because the CP is firmly attached to the hinged panel, but the hinged panel itself is not firmly attached to the base on all edges.

VLX owners - can you comment or test this?

I realize the whole stick itself is wobbling at times in that video, but you can see that flexing even when it’s not wobbling.

Thx, that really helps! I noticed on the top it says, “V3-SA $129.99 Sept. 2010”. That $300 price for the VLX is what I was hoping for…yet now I’m not so sure I can justify it since I just bought a new titanium exhaust. :frowning:

Whoa!!! Good eye! Would like to know the answer to this question as well.

Mine have both been rock solid. Markman said he experienced the same thing after his trip from japan. I was really worried, but like I said. It’s been rock solid and I pound the sh*t outta my sticks.

Rock solid? So when you pound on the stick and place your hand in the spot on that video that’s popping up, it doesn’t do that? It just feels like a rock? Man I hope so…

Are you serious? Marketing?

haha

He’s right. I was on the fence, but then those hilarious commercials with celebrities conv-

lol Shit, do they even buy magazine ads?

MarkMan! Any updates? We’re all anxious!

I’m waiting for news on the HRAP V3 sticks but if the VLX is $300 or less it will be hard for me to pass up on it.

If you look at that Collider link I posted yesterday, and back up to the full list of photos, you’ll see the V3-SA coming soon for $129.99.

ahhh I should have bothered to read through this entire thread.

Either I get the VLX next month or wait until September and get the V3.

It might best for me to just wait for the V3 seeing as I’m looking for I stick that I can actually take with me to places. It’s too bad I can’t afford to buy both.
