This looked like a mafia styled drive-by assassination than police responding to a possible threat. Not only that, the events in the video are completely contradictory to what the police claimed occurred. So you have a case where an unarmed black guy in New York dies because cops shot at him in a dark stairwell and now this. How much bullshit are citizens supposed to take from moronic and undisciplined law enforcement before things really boil over?

I saw this a couple of days ago, headline makes your blood boil. But you watch the video (no audio) and it looks like as they pull up the kid immediately goes for his waist! Cop sees a gun and shoots him dead.
The story sheds more light on the incident, makes it even more fucked up, no procedures being followed. Someone said on here that it’s better to kill and avoid the lifetime of medical bills when the assailant tries to sue you. When you read that neither of them attempted to save his life, until someone else showed up, it makes you wonder, did they drive up knowing it was just a kid, but then when they saw the gun they thought it was a real threat, then realizing it was fake just let the kid die.
Again you have the police telling lies to cover up, that in itself should be a criminal act.
This is another example of breakdown in communication, the guy killed in the Walmart store would be alive if the 911 responder asked 1 basic question. Sad to say but this looks like the kid made the wrong decision, maybe he was trying to show them it wasn’t real.
Well, 10 year vet thought kid looked 20, 12 year old probably not expecting to get blown away for having a toy either, cop should get his throat cut over this but meh, lets have a laugh on what the hillbillies have to say over this one.

This story is beyond even my penchant for trolling, cops drive over the grass to intercept the kid, jump out the door and fire twice. Shots fired immediately. Wut.

Look closely, as soon as they pull up the kid immediately pulls up his jacket and goes for the gun tucked in his waist. I can’t fault them for reacting like this, problems is with everything else prior and after the incident

The kid didn’t know better than to NOT do what he did, and the cops acted top protect themselves from what looked like a threat. Nobody’s fault…this was just a Lemony Snicket. Unfortunately, the black community will use this as an excuse for more mayhem and destruction, because police are supposed to have super-vision and be able to determine a replica of a real gun from a fake in .3 seconds as it’s being pulled on them, and hyper reflexes so they can release pressure on the trigger before they fire once they run the appearance of the gun through their 1tb per second mental link to the fbi firearms database. And if the gun WERE real, they’re supposed to just let the kid shoot them, because, hey, he just a baby.

Don’t even lie, 1 is nowhere on your menu in that situation. Police couldn’t afford to take that chance either, but they can’t just haul ass. They have to end the situation to protect themselves and anyone around (that’s like the ONLY situation in which a cop’s job is to protect you: getting rid of a threat to the residents of the area in which the situation is occurring). Remember, a cop’s first job above all is to go home alive. This all happened too fast to be stopped once the kid went for his gun, thinking it was a game. My dad told me, as probably many other poster’s dads (if they lived in those kinds of areas) told them “Don’t have shit in your hand the cops can say is a weapon, even if it’s a stick you’re playing swords with. They show up, you drop it. Don’t throw it, just let it fall.” I’m not saying you should or shouldn’t listen to or trust police (within reason)…but don’t give them a reason to either misconstrue a situation or maliciously take advantage of a situation where their reaction can by justified because of something you’re holding, or a way you’re acting. Black people seem to have stopped teaching their kids that in the last 20 years…don’t draw negative attention to yourself.
I dunno about you but if I saw someone of any age reach for a gun and I was an officer, they’d get shot first.

You want to die, jump up and pull ANYTHING resembling a gun on a cop from your waistband…one of the more common places people usually keep a gun. That’s like a 300lb man walking up and faking a swing at somebody. You become what looks like a serious, sudden threat, and nobody has time to wait and see, because that time could cost someone their life. And common sense should tell you a preteen with a gun can end your ass just as well as a grown man can. A child pulling a replica (that can only be verified as such under close scrutiny, which nobody has time for when said replica is about to be pointed at THEM) firearm from concealment that looks like the real thing WILL be shot. Guess what: PRETEENS HAVE GUNS THESE DAYS. Cops already knew this over a decade ago.
It’s 100% the cops fault. You don’t roll up on someone and hop out guns blazing. There are procedures that cops are supposed to follow and these cops didn’t. The kid went for the gun when they rolled up. You don’t DO that unless you are aiming for suicide by cop, or are too young to know better. Either way it ends the same, from ages pre-teen to 80.
