Normally, there wouldn’t be, but I really don’t want to buy a console for one game and while there are other games, nothing’s really caught my eye. I was definitely leaning towards the PS4. In any case, I’m just not ready to commit to this generation yet, especially if they’re going to release games like GGXrd on PS3 still.
Who knows though, hopefully there’s more crazy shit on the horizon.
I wonder if we’ll get a tag mode, given how pokemon in series can tag out. We’ll have to see the roster size first, since a 16 character game would have a hard time working as a tag fighter.
Assuming that the game only will be fighting types, what is your guys’ character predictions (if you have non-fighting type predictions, put them in parentheses).
Lucario (confirmed)
Machamp (confirmed)
Blaziken (confirmed if leak last year was legit)
This is pretty cool really, but am I the only one who, on reading this (and especially the title Pokken) thought this sounds like an elaborate April fools joke that has come much too late? Haha
lets use the shittiest Fighting game and give it pokemon skins. great. if it was a 2d fighter it would be better. Same thing with Naruto. If they made a legit 2d fighter of naruto almost like KoF shit would be INSANE, blow SF out of the water.
I mean like decent 2D, 2.5D or 3D fighting game for final fantasy made that’s either released in the arcades or consoles, or both. It has yet to be done, but the day will come.
It says they will implement something different. Probably some other kind of mixup. I wonder what they will do. Maybe certain attack types will break through different guards to implement the elemental aspect of pokemon games? Like maybe a character like lucario will have a steel type guard that would be broken by fire type attacks, but he also has another guard type that wouldn’t be broken.
Left right mixups and throw mixups are likely going to be a large part of the game, probably guard break and some form of guard impact/parry mechanic as well.
It’s definitely unconventional but it can still work.
