It is pretty dumb, but if you read it, it goes on to state how the maximum stat increase gained is 10 points. i.e, Machamp’s Cross Chop goes from 100 to 110 damage if you’ve thrown in 100 points into the stat, lol.
Pretty weird that stat values aren’t turned off by default tho.
Welp, it seems character-specific combos are a thing.
Just learned (accidentally) that Mewtwo vs. Chandelure, Duel Phase, this combo is possible:
jump-in Light canceled to Heavy,
Spinning Demon -> Left Hook (D+H, H),
Backfist (H) (groundbounce),
Hyper Beam (F+S)
I’ve tested against quite a few other characters, but it’s only worked on Chandelure so far. I’m not sure what it is about the floating lamp that lets you get this, but it’s definitely a thing. No wonder it seemed I couldn’t hit my usual big-damage ender against Blaziken, as it seems it drops only on him.
Looks like lab time is necessary to figure out if there’s any other ‘goofy combo’ characters.
Not surprising at all really, this is hardly the first fighting game to have character specific combos.
I imagine a lot of them might not work specifically with Chandelure, though, considering how weird his hurtboxes are. Can anyone test out whether or not low sweeps even hit him?
I dunno man. He seems to have a ton of bullshit, but if I’m being honest I haven’t spent that much time playing around with him. I’m probably just salty from dealing with him in the story mode.
It’d be cool if he was legal, I’d use the shit out of him. I’m just weary on putting time into him, only to find out in a few months that he’s broken as fuck.
Trust me, he’ll be legal unless he somehow breaks the game which from first glance he does not. Basically like I said, has that Akuma bullshit. But lowest health in a game where it can drop like a rock, along with needing to actually pay life in order to use certain moves. His zoning isn’t as annoying because you don’t get chipped either. So any bullshit he deserves because he’s paying hard for that shit.
According to the article you can’t KO yourself with S. Mewtwo’s attacks and the time over win will go to S. Mewtwo if he gets the opponent to 1 health and S. Mewtwo is also at 1 health, due to his naturally low HP.
