POKKEN Official Pokemon Fighter Made By Bandai Namco

I don’t know if we’re doing this but…
Day one Pikachu Duel phase combos (using in-game menu notation, default buttons)
Notes:

[details=Spoiler]All “charge and release y” moves refers to the weak version.
The weak version of F+y leads to phase shift happening earlier than the strong version. If you want to stay in duel phase a little bit longer, then use the strong version.
Large characters: Machamp, Sceptile, Chandelure, Charizard, and Garchomp. You must replace the D+x in the last two wall combos with U+y to hit them.
The final hit of every combo can be replaced with synergy burst for more damage.[/details]
Midscreen

[details=Spoiler]F+a, a (105)

x+a, F+y, F+y, D+x (122)
OR
x+a, F+y, D+x, U+x (119-121)
(If you have trouble doing the strong F+y consistently, do the second combo. The timing on the D+x is a bit tougher though)

y,y,y,x, D+y,y (136)

F+y, F+y, D+x, U+x (147-156)

(The following two don’t work on Machamp and Sceptile, they fall too quickly)
charge and release y, F+y, D+y,y (166-170)

Air x, charge and release y, F+y, D+y, y (194-197)[/details]
Wall exclusive (?) (Excluding first combo, damage includes the additional 30 damage from bounce off wall)

[details=Spoiler]F+a, F+y, D+x (154-184 (doesn’t naturally cause wall bounce/phase shift))
Use this instead against the Large characters:
F+a, y,y,y, U+a (165)

x+a, F+y, F+y, U+y (148-151)

charge and release y, (weak) F+y, D+x (226)

Air x, charge and release y, (weak) F+y, D+x (256)[/details]
I wasn’t expecting some of these combos to be character specific.

So hows da gawd garchomp? Im barely booting my game up. Going to run some tutorials, i might main garchomp, and have luc as my back up…

Checked out that Pokken Arena site one of you fucks linked.
Went to the Gardevoir sub forum. Alright. Time to see how other players are applying her zoning tools and see if there is anything in her move list I might’ve missed.

An entire page dedicated to weather or not the character can be construed as “anthro.”

Yeah. Never going there again.

Yeah I was browsing there to search for Gengar tech… I’m better off watching videos of Japanese play and labbing myself.

Complete fucking disaster.

GameFAQS was more useful…

GAMEFAQS.

Hey, it DOES have its useful days. Plus once the guides start going up it’s a good thing.

We must take it upon ourselves to say the day. And when I say ourselves, I mean you guys. I’m just gonna sit over here with tacos. :coffee:

Attack. With any normal attack. You armor through all grab attacks in this game with normal attacks. And get a critical hit to boot, even if you hit them during recovery.

Your character may also get a big combo off of it depending on the move. (Lucario gets a ground bounce with Up + Y if it’s used against a throw, for example).

Or neutral jump. Neutral jump light attacks let you link off of them as they seem to have pretty high hitstun, and grab attacks have a decent amount of endlag which makes for easy neutral jump punishes.

Wait til I get home.

Bitch what?!?!

You heard me. :coffee:

I look at the stuff there and just laugh. They still deciding rulesets when EVO and CEO have chosen to go with the Arcade setup and those events count towards the Pokemon World Championships. Niggas wasting their time on shit that’s already been decided.

His grabs do have armor sometimes though.

Which is craaaaaazy lol.

When I played Martian, I would block the Body Slam then try to punish with Pika’s Y or f+Y. He’d grab, but instead of turning red, he’d turn blue indicating a counter, but I get scooped. Thought he was canceling his counter into a grab.

I found some success punishing with Pika Libre’s Wild Charge, though.

I started doing that after I realized hitting buttons was only getting me killed. He has Gief’s Lariat, though .

Edit: Oh, and you guys should play Davidstar’s Sceptile. We played like 40 matches last night lol. He’s pretty sick. He was really hard to approach in Field Phase because of all his traps and that CRAZY Flash Kick(seriously, the speed and range on that is ludicrous).

Yeah, I think it’s only when he’s in Super Mode or whatever it’s called though.

Garchomp is pretty sick. I think Charizard and Lucario are probably a lot better though.

I believe Machamp gets armor on his grabs when in Burst mode(Gear 2nd).

Garchomp’s pretty awesome, but he’s got a bit of a learning curve and his combos aren’t as easy to pull off as Zard’s or Machamp’s.

I’m going to be spending several hours in the lab… For such a seemingly simple game, there’s a lot to take into account during battle.

People are figuring out how to determine when a phase shift is going to happen in Duel Phase apparently.

Edit: Invisible points counter, moves add to it, each move adds a different amount of points, which are noted in the docs.

I hate that shit. You’re basically allowed a limited amount of damage in Duel Phase. Some combos don’t even work unless you landed nothing beforehand. I rarely get to even finish my Pikachu combos because they Phase Shift mid way. It’s really stupid, IMO.

The game is built to limit long-ass combos, hence the massive scaling on Burst Attacks done at the end of combos.

You want to be Phase Shifting a lot anyway to build Synergy.

Don’t lie to these people Idk how to play this game

It doesn’t really limit long combos, but damage. The limitations to combo length comes as a byproduct. For example, I can’t do my bnb Pikachu combo on you if I hit you with some zoning stuff already. The game says “nah, that’s enough damage for you,” and switches phases.

I’d like it better if specific moves or situations caused phase shifts outside of grabs and damage wasn’t too much of a factor.

Duel shift is fun. Personally I’m fine with how phase shift works right now

i think i’ve spent more time changing my date and amiibo scanning to unlock everything than actually playing.
I should feel bad…but I don’t.

Plus I’ve been playing Twilight Princess.

Machamp sounds dumb. Super armor on grabs are always a bitch to deal with.
