I agree wholeheartedly with pedrojevo that pokemon is incredibly stale and needs a revamp either via story or gameplay. Just a simple change in tone could do wonders to revive my interest in the actual games. Imagine a pokemon game with an actually great storyline, it would be awesome. Instead we’ll get the same tired “insert baddies” are trying to take over the world with a legendaries power. That bullshit ship has sailed ten years ago. You telling me that it would be impossible for them to make the game real time? I don’t see why given the time it would be a problem. No one is asking for bayonetta just real tangible change. But this is Nintendo after all, one of the most boring developers nowadays. They can released rehashed trash like Twilight Princess and get perfect scores. Theres no reason to change pokemon for them because it will sell regardless.

Pokemon appearances based on time of day, items, real world time night and day, 2 new and relevant types, splitting of the Special stat for more balanced stat spreads, real Ghost/Dragon moves, total move/ effect rehaul so that being frozen or wrapped isn’t a nightmare, field placed traps aka Spikes, berries, Pokegear, Breeding…

What really has Nintendo done other than adding half assed motion sensing to their games that has been innovative this gen? They were the first to use it, great. But what came out of it was a deluge of shovelware and first party games that are shells of their former selves/rehashes. Twilight princess might as well be called OOT:wolf edition and many of their games now share that same distinction with being pretty much the same game as the earlier ones with swinging.

After Black, I skipped B&W2 and decided I was done with this series. I sold my DS, the games (painful, I might add), and never looked back… Now, I’m going to have to get back into it. Judging from the first trailer, the game has finally evolved(no pun intended) in ways I’ve always hoped for.
