aerodactyl might not even see use as trollfreak keeps giving him stuff that he can’t use (rock head and tough claws)
mind reader and similar moves suck and only force a switch, to something that would probably counter the poke you have out there which was a switch most likely to happen
stomp and all those moves suck outside of hitting minimize users
clear smog users currently in X and Y: magby line, trubbish line, foongus line
odor slueth actually has quite a few pokes but like someone mentioned, is it really worth it to give up a move just for odor sleuth?
everything besides breloom with mind reader really wants that 4th move except for a OHKO set with poliwrath
same issues with foresight, except the one poke who can use it doesn’t need it whatsoever
moves that are super situational should not be forced upon us
So instead of dealing with 2 Pokemon, a slew of decent Pokemon with a pesky x4 weakness; who could potentially revitalize the metagame, have to be raped by a braindead 1-turn move? (going by this logic, OHKOs and DT follow this exact principle) That doesn’t sound like balance to me. Normally I hate playing “what ifs” but imo, if SR never existed I’m sure neither Volcarona and Dragonite would be banned. People would’ve just accepted their dominance and moved on.
BTW, does anyone have a spare Tamato Berry to trade? I’d really appreciate it!
I would really like to be able to use scyther some day, he’s pretty fun, but has enough trouble being viable without being a half hp pokemon. And pretty much all ICe pokemon already have a hard enough life without losing a quarter of it.

I’ve grown weary of arguing for now, but I still have yet to see a real breakdown of why evasion is dumb RIGHT NOW in this CURRENT GEN other than, “It was dumb in the past,” and my favorite, “I just don’t want to deal with it…”
I don’t want to deal with Scizor on every team and Stealth Rock, but I suck it up because they’re a part of the game.
IMO you’re attacking the issue in a way that puts peoples hackles up. Instead of being like “hey guys I think we should try some games with evasion unbanned so we can see what it’s like with new counters” you’re like “EVASION IS FINE NOW YOU’RE ALL JUST DUMB SHEEP”.
@The Co-Jones, would you like the Squirtle to have Aura Sphere or Dragon Pulse? (I don’t think it can get both at the same time) Or would you want the Squirtle to be a physical attacker?
I will personally create a team to fight you using a combination of OHKO moves, sleep moves and evasion moves, and I will challenge you once I get it done. You’re not allowed to lose, by the way.
do normal moves on normal pokes get the STAB bonus? and also does the move return only have its damage calculated by how much the poke likes you, or does the attack value come into it as well.
i wanted to EV train a furfrou (attack and sp. DF most likely) and basically make it into a tank since its ability halves physical damage, and also give it rest (with berry for waking up) return, cotton guard, and another move to help it against rock/steel types (not sure if it can learn any fighting moves though.)
normals do get stab on normal moves, and return the amount that it likes you only affects the attacks base power, so STAB and a high attack stat will make return stronger(and a defense stat by the enemy will still lower it).
