Pokemon X and Y: Aftermath (GEN 6 Discussion, Tier Talk, Breeding, Meganite)

stats are measured through a calculation of IVs, EVs, base stats, and nature.

IVs are determined on the creation of that pokemon in the game. upon hatching, upon encountering, etc.
the whole deal with friend safari dittos is the IV deal, because in pokemon x y you can pass IVs down to babies through breeding in a specific way.

nature is pretty simple, one stats increases more and one stat increases less per level.

EVs are the whole super training / ev training deal. be aware that lv100 pokemon can change their stats by changing their ev’s and then being put into the pc box - ev’s will change your stats if they change! these are the most changeable things and should be dealt with after you get the IVs and nature you want.

base stats are set for that particular species of pokemon. IE electrode has a higher base speed than shuckle.

Zoroark has 105 Base Speed. That makes it faster than my Ninetails(100), Lucario(90), and Scizor(65). My Talonflame(126), Greninja(122), and Gengar(110) all out-speed it. Your Noivern has 123 Base Speed, so at best it’s supposed to be faster than everything but Talonflame, who out-speeds everything. It has Gale Wings too, which gives it +1 Priority to Flying moves.

However, this is all assuming your Zoroark, Greninja, and Noivern have beneficial Speed Nature, 252 Speed EVs and 31 IVs in Speed.

You haven’t added me!!

Waaaaaah!!

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:

Ive added everybody from the front page and a few from the last couple pages. That’s 43 codes. You know how many safaris I have?

ADD ME YOU BASTARDS!!!
;( ;( ;(

I’ll replace this update with the one on the first page.

Striking resemblance to my team. I have the most perfect Snorlax ever w/Thick Fat Attack + Speed - caught on my second attempt.

But the reason I dropped him though was because he was getting rapped by fighting types/moves. Simply put, too many moves get past him now, and I hate having Rest/Sleep Talk utilizing two designated move slots. For all the shit he can learn, you would think gamefreak would give him Slack Off or something

With Greninja and Lucario both weak to fighting stabs, I saw a major hole in my team. That’s why I inserted Slowbro, and simply put he’s working out much better than I expected. I caught a modest on my first attempt, so I was extremely fortunate lol. Slowbro laughs at fighting moves with was his unique defensive stat, decent special attack, and great support off moves like Twave or Scald. He works well with Venasaur and protects Garchomp from being X4 to ice, even with his on par-average special defense (which can easily be fixed with amnesia). Biggest thing of all is that he gets Slack Off through leveling.

Greninja is a great pokemon but to me his talents take too long to develop. He doesn’t learn anything worthwhile until damn near 60s so your stuck fooling around TMs like Surf or Dark Pulse (not bad actually). Plus, I had enough glass cannons on my team like Lucario and Blaziken, so I boxed him as well. Would of been nice to have a rapid spinner though :frowning:

Team

Venasaur
Garchomp
Lucario
Slowbro
Yvetal
Blaziken

Whenever I catch Mewtwo Y, I’ll replace Slowbro with him. But for now, I think that team checks a lot of shit.

Sucks to be garchomp dude can’t even hold things with his hands.

I probably need to make some new eggs then, because I haven’t paid attention to the natures of any of them…lol.

I need one of those Protean Greninjas. Jesus. It’s like he’ll never have a weakness if you set him up right, lol.

Oh, and my Blaziken doesn’t know Flare Blitz because I was sick of taking damage from my own attack. Lol.

Since his Attack is about 220 right now, I think Blaze kick does a decent enough amount of damage. And if it doesn’t then High Jump Kick will usually go first and save me.

Yeeeeeaaa, about that…. If your Blaziken is Modest, there’s a problem lol. Your best bet is to check their Natures, then decide if you need to re-breed or reset their EVs.

You need a Protean Greninja? I have 6 boxes of Protean Froakie… Sitting there… Mocking me for every second I don’t have a Shiny one… :crybaby:

Save one for me. Froakie is the starter I’m missing, and a Protean one would be nice.

About Yvetal:

What’s a good nature for him? General Consensus seems to be modest right now, but mines is hasty. Makes a good mixed sweeper?
What’s a good moveset for this thing? Actually, this thing has a pretty bad skillset all over. I have U-turn/Fly/Dark Pulse/Signature Move. Yes Fly. I hate digging through the box for that shit.

I can’t see this thing being uber, the skillset is worse than the X legend and he has a boltbeam weakness. It’s weak to S/R and neutral to fighting, almost makes me wanna box him but goddamn this thing fires Dark Pulses like a HAM.

Here are their natures:

Gardevoir: Modest
Greninja: Modest
Zoroark: Gentle
Rotom: Modest
Blaziken: Calm
Noivern: Mild

Also I wold love a Protean Froakie.

Garchomp is adopted.

Just some advice. People with Zoroark on their teams have very bad habits of leading off with it, and then they just end up throwing the Zoroark away when it could’ve have so much more potential in screwing with the opponent.

Example: Our battle I led off with Greninja while you led off with Zoroark disguised as Noivern. I went straight for Ice Beam, and it was, to put in FGC terms, an “option-select” where I won either way. If it actually was your Noivern, I took a chance that my Greninja would likely outspeed and kill it. If it was the Zoroark, I outspeed, can survive the incoming Grass Knot thanks to Protean, and kill you off next turn.

It’s best to save it for mid to late game, where it’s harder know when Zoroark will be sent out or if it’s even used at all.

Shark-skin up close:

They both have Rough Skin as an ability. You so smart Game-Freak.

Kind of similar on my Snorlax except he has neutral nature with thick fat but I used him heavy at the start since he could beast with Chip Away, since I deleted rest and opted for more attack he manages to take care of most Pokemon fine I do love that Heavy Slam. As for Greninja you didn’t keep Extrasensory? That move ended up helping quite a bit against the fighting types, I need to get Dark Pulse for him. I should have kept Water Pledge instead of Hydro Pump I ended up running out during the elite 4. I might opt for scald though.

Stupid double post.

Have you added me? If not, send me a request and I’ll hopefully add you once I find that damned 3DS…

Yveltal shits on most other Ubers due to a lot of them being part Psychic, and its Ability gives it Life Orb damage on its Dark Pulse without the drawback. Oblivion Wing hits pretty much every other Uber for neutral damage and heals it for 75% of the damage it does, making it hard to put down without Rocks.

For all the fear about Mega Blaziken, I forgot all about Slowbro… Slowbro gives 0 fucks about Blaziken’s STAB attacks, can turn its Speed against it with Trick Room, and has Slack Off and Regenerator to do it all over again later.

SHINY CHARMANDER SUCK MY DICK(Blaze Ability + Jolly Nature = Swords Dance for sure)

I used everstone on the charmander father and destiny knot on the JPN Ditto(just want to be specific in case those two pieces of facts are significant).

Slowbro gives 0 fucks about some of the most commonly used Pokemon in teams in general, and he still isn’t used much for whatever reason. He can do walling capabilities or he can go on the offensive with Trick Room or Choice Specs sets with surprising power. He’s one of the few Water types who doesn’t give a shit about Ferrothorn thanks to Flamethrower/Fire Blast, and one of the few Psychic types who doesn’t mind taking a Pursuit from T-tar and Scizor. As long as you don’t let him get poisoned, he’s amazing.

But I don’t think you can catch Regenerator Slowpoke in-game sadly.

It’s pretty defeating that I could be breeding Ralts for the rest of my life

And still never come across a shiny

Doesn’t Slowbro have shitty Sp. Def? An electric type/dark type/Gengar ruins his day though.
