I’ve been seeing a lot of hate around the net about the supposed number of new Pokemon… Why?
GF introduces a gen with no old mons: “Where is my Charizard/Tyranitar/Garchomp/etc…?”
GF introduces a gen with old mons + a few excellently designed new ones: “OMG why are there so many old guys? I want a Pokedex filled with new mons, of which half will be useless filler!”
Every new mon seems to have a great design aesthetic, and I’m really glad they went for quality over quantity. I was really getting tired of Pidgey/Geodude/Zubat clones every generation that were merely dex fillers for the most part.
On top of that, I am REALLY glad they decided to cut back on the legendaries… Do you really need or want two Legendary trios, a Cover Legend trio, three Mew-clones, AND a Mewtwo knockoff?
just like B/W I like the way this gen is shaping up. I think the EV/IV visuals will probably come as post game. I might take my time with this game, just like I did with gen 5, raising my serperior was the most fun I had in a while with pokemon lol.
Since I skipped Gen 5 I guess I still have a lot to see. So I have way more new pokemon for myself. But the reason I skipped B1/W1 was for a gray version. The last merged version I had was Crystal. So when B2/W2 was announced I skipped. Now we might get a Z version. I was also gonna get a fire starter first playthrough (nothing I ever did before) and now I’m getting water again.
How sad is it that I can’t escape tradition even if I try?

edit - i’m going to bet that mega gengar might possibly be banned cause it appears that gengar will be a top OU threat due to steel nerfs and stab sludge bomb to maim fairy types
@Ninjanuity: that’s just the Zelda Cycle, where fans will hate on the current Zelda title whilst venerating the previous entries… Nintendo tries to compensate the complaints with the next title and it continues ad infinitum…
Been doing some more poking around for more leaks, and by God, the Pokemon fandom is so, so very shitty… So much petty whining and entitled complaints…
These fools have no idea how wonderful Nintendo/GameFreak has been to them over the past 15 years. Ask a Capcom fan*(pick a series)* how they feel about their favorite franchise and watch as the light of hope fades from their eyes and their head lowers…
Ask a Pokemon fan, and watch as they go picking nits about some arbitrary Smogon shit or that one Pokemon out of the whole 700+ they don’t like while they drown in excellently produced main titles and spin-offs…
