I’m all set.
Oh shit oh shit oh shit those lyrics…
Interesting… they brought back “Gotta Catch 'Em All”… Too bad I can’t actually DO that right now…
Seriously, where the FUCK is Pokébank, Nintendo?!
It’s in the lost zone.
I think Pokebank accidently saved in Lumiose
The feels… This gen really is a new beginning for the series.
Speaking of the anime, Froakie is waaaay too hardcore.
Man, I absolutely love Mega Heracross, but I think he’s gonna get the boot from my team in favour of Mega Charizard X.
The trouble is that he wants to set up a swords dance, but he’s slower than Talonflame and gets 1 shotted by him, so as soon as he gets his buff on, Talonflames comes in and he has to drop everything and run the fuck away essentially losing 2 turns worth of momentum to the opponent.
I’ve had a bit of success running him with a Gliscor batton passer (See below)
Careful, Weakness Policy
252 SP Def/ 252 HP
Knock Off
Rock Polish
Swords Dance
Batton Pass
But what tends to happen after he gets the buffs is that he’ll get toxic/sub/protect stalled and at best take out a couple of pokes before keeling over, meanwhile the gliscor batton passer can sometimes be used again, but a lot of the time he’s taken a rotom hydro pump and doesn’t really have enough HP to do anything but smack the item off something.
Meanwhile looking at mega charizard, with his stats and typing he barely gives a fuck about anything, he can roost to heal up and keep on sweeping with his dragon dance buffs, he eats Scizor (who at the moment my team can’t realiably switch into and kill) for breakfast and he doesn’t need a buff to be passed to him to not be forced to switch out by the mere presence of a pokemon, potentially freeing up the Gliscor slot for something else (or alternatively letting Gliscor swords dance against water moves and pass +4 attack rather than +2 Attack and +2 Speed).
Sure, switching into stealth rocks before going mega might hurt but;
A) He can roost it off
B) Defog is on the loose now
C) People are aware defog is on the loose now, or running it themselves which should hopefully make rocks a bit less popular
Also he’s a big ass dragon with blue fire coming out of his mouth and tail, my inner 10 year old fucking loves him.
If using Mega Heracross, don’t be greedy trying to Swords Dance… Anticipate Scrubflame coming in and Substitute on the switch, then eliminate it with Rock Blast. Or use a Choice Band and punch holes in things…
Mega Cross is already sitting 400+ Attack without investment and is slow as fuck-- Why SD unless you have a Trick Room team?
EDIT: LOL I gotta start proofreading things…
you can’t choice band mega heracross…just saying
really, mega heracross’ problem is that he sits at a really bad speed stat, he’s too slow to go balls to the wall offensive (you really need 100+ to do so) and he’s too fast to take abuse of a TR team, he’s not like conkeldurr who sits as base 47
he also gets his shit kicked in by talonflame
but i do agree with what po said, don’t try to set up swords dance with him, he’s not good at abusing it, he’s a wall breaker that gives no fucks about substitute, abuse that aspect
i also wouldn’t run weakness policy on gliscor, he only has 2 weaknesses in water and ice and outside of gyarados sending waterfalls your way, you are not surviving either type of attack without some real serious EV spread which at that point it’s not worth it, just run toxic orb and poison heal, he’s much better for utility support so you want him alive for as long as possible. his typing is really awesome because of the fact he doesn’t have many weaknesses and the ones he does have, are often carried by water type pokemon, he also lacks the true power of abusing weakness policy and lacks priority, unlike dnite and aegislash. it’s kind of asking him to do too much especially when you’re only running 1 attack and that attack isn’t EQ, if you really want a suicide baton passer, use smeargle who also can get spore
knock off is really good for stall teams and bulky offensive teams, not so much for a baton pass team as those usually want pure power
I got a few 5 IV Adamant Scythers (though most of them have the lost IV in a wonky place). Working on Jolly Meditite and then Adamant TTar.
Once I can get my hands on a 6iv jap ditto and shiny charm I’m breeding for a shiny so I can have a blue one.
I still havent seen shiny zard Y. That should look sick.
Charizard X has my vote for best dragon sweeper this gen I would recommend him to anyone. He is a lot easier to get going then mega cross that is for sure. I also like regular cross better than his mega form simply because he looks cooler.
My charizard Y is shiny.
PURPLE SON
the pokebank is in another castle.
Sup y’all? I’ve been interested in starting up on X/Y…I’ve pretty much stopped playing video games except sports games and Black 2; a friend of mine legit gave me a DSi and a copy of black 2 for free just to get into it. There was so much to do in that game, I kinda got hooked.
But I’m considering moving into the current gen after everybody was telling me how great it was. Now that it’s been out for a while, what’s you guy’s take on it? Sorry I haven’t read the thread yet…but I’m just curious.

This is the next big step in the series since Gen 4 where they split the moves for special/physical. battles are 3D now in full similar to Pkmn Stadium series. If you like to breed and train, it’s gotten MCUH easier this time around. finding trades/battles is also very easy this time as well. Highly recommended!
Yeah basically this is the biggest Pokemon revolution in a long time.
There’s so many minute changes and stuff we’re STILL finding new stuff to this day.
