Scald isn’t good on Greninja?

LOL.

So is Overheat with Ninetails

I was being sarcastic. Scald is fantastic on Greninja, sometimes it just needs Rain assist.

Greninja wants hydrop pump imo. If it misses the KO it just dies.

scald is bad on greninja, he’s not defensive and wants to punch holes in the opponents team, scald misses important KOs like the 2HKO on ttar or the near OHKO on heatran

scald is a ridiculously good defensive move for water types, greninja is not a defensive mon and has no business taking even resisted hits

Hydro Pump is too susceptible to hax to be viable for my team. Scald destroys in rain and adds versatility through its burn chance. What do I have to show when that shit misses?

Plus, Greninja can tank at least one hit (ideally) and that’s assuming the other person goes first, which in most cases they don’t.

My Greninja is set up to strike powerfully and swiftly. He also Red Card’s the opponent into toxic spikes. Add on STAB with Rain Dance, Scald in most cases does enough damage to finish whatever spikes doesn’t take care of in terms of health.

@Martian- You hush your mouth, boy! You know you can’t be going around in public talking about how you tweak your Pokémon’s movesets to work within your team’s strategy…

It’s all about dat standard crap everyone else does. Where’s your Goddamn Washing Machine/Scizor/Garchomp/Talonflame/Prankster/Tyranitar at?

wtf kinda of greninja are you using?

i don’t even know what that is, hell, phantom had sneak attack on his greninja which is more viable than whatever the hell you’re running and even that got wrecked

do not use greninja for defensive purposes, he is not designed for that, use him for that ridiculous offensive pressure he brings, he’s a wall breaker

if you want to set up spikes, use skarmory who does it about 4893829408324093284093248 times better, you’re asking him to do too much at once

if you want a rain team, use politoed on it, greninja doesn’t have the bulk nor the recovery moves to use rain dance

he’s a wallbreaker, he has the option to set up spikes but he’s pretty bad at it, he’s only going to be able to set up 1 layer usually (or at least, that’s all i’ve ever let them set up) red card is for pokemon that can take multiple hits like deo-d, forretress, heck even skarmory makes good use of it

like your greninja moveset from what you said is this:
spikes / toxic spikes
scald
rain dance
filler

which is already asking a frail pokemon to do too much

also if you don’t want to use hydro pump, use surf, you really want the extra power, the only pokemon i have found that you really want hydro pump for is ttar

Someday I’m going to train 5 more Prankster Sableyes, and just fight people with six of them.

I don’t even expect to win, I just want to frustrate people into giving up because the match ends up taking almost an hour.

Mood too caught up in his damage calcs to read, yo.

I run a Rain Dance team. I never said I ran Rain Dance on Greninja, and I actually already have Politoed on the team. Greninja has:

Toxic Spikes
Ice Beam
Scald
Grass Knot

In terms of items I switch between Shell Bell and Red Card. I could probably use a more beneficial item for him, but those two seem to work out often.

My Greninja is less about guaranteed sweeping and more about option selection and versatility.

This really isn’t the thread for this, nor do I feel inclined to start up with you for the 1000th time, but please stop telling people that the way they play is wrong… Not everyone wants nor cares to play with/against Standard Mass-Produced Smogon Team #4785

I can’t speak for Martian, but from my matches with him, he always brings something new to the table-- I wish I had his creativity and youthful outlook to playing… He has FUN while playing and it comes through in every aspect of his game, from his choices of Pokémon, to the moves they use.

Never once have I played him and had to roll my eyes and go, “Welp, here’s that Goddamn Washing Machine… here comes Volt Switch” :coffee:

When I used Greninja, I had Toxic Spikes on it as part of an experimental team. I used it on predicted switches(which Greninja forces a lot of) or to take an incoming Fighting/Grass attack from a slower opponent(of which there are a lot mons it outspeeds).

I’ll give you that purely Offensive Greninja is probably its best build overall, but don’t knock other peoples’ ideas just because they don’t fit a specific mold.

Worst thing I could have ever did was lose to this guy- Now he thinks he’s lord and master of SRK’s Pokémon players…

I’m at work now, but I have 3 Ditto on me right now to give out for the next 20 mins or so. First come, first serve.

I’ll be back to give out more to “da hood” this weekend.

I’ll be on there bro. My FC is 3153-4603-1058.

Added Po

Added, getting on now bro.

I’d run normal spikes, it’s pretty sweet dodging lightning bolts like that(normal spikes are ground for whatever reason).

What’s your IGN again?

Also, we need I battle more often Po. My off the wall shit is a lot funner against your off the wall shit, as opposed to battle spot which is just crowded with Smogon sets and ubers.

If I have to fight 1 more Kangaskhan…

Yeah man, my schedule has been really weird lately, so I haven’t had a lot of time with Pokémon, but I have a few new guys I’ve been meaning to use.

My biggest issue is I have so many guys ready to go that I just throw six guys together and don’t think about synergy until I’m already in the middle of the battle, lol.

@EveryFlowerFlow

Getting on now. Saw you online yesterday but no response…

IGN: Don

Edit: Thanks man. Now can put more teams together!

Can you add me to trade the ditto?
