stone edge outdamages poison jab on all 3 of those pokes, the only pokemon in which poison jab does something beneficial to than all other options is azumarill, and it’s a 4% increase
did i say stone edge OHKOs togekiss? i don’t think i did, just that it outdamages poison jab and maybe has a possibility to OHKO with the heightened critical hit chance
252 Atk Garchomp Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Togekiss: 164-194 (43.8 - 51.8%) – guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Garchomp Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Togekiss: 132-156 (35.2 - 41.7%) – 80.2% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
while poison jab is more reliable, stone edge still hits gyarados and mandibuzz harder and none of them want to risk the critical hit chance, poison jab doesn’t do anything to help get past these pokemon
it deals with fairies, but garchomp does similar damage to them with earthquake and stone edge already, why carry poison jab
hey yo id defo take one of those dittos from you if you dont mind, i have no moral compass whatsoever and have even tried cloning myself a few times (with no success yet) im at work atm for the next few hours still when would you be online next? im not sure if i have added you yet my IGN is Dave.

I’m at work too. I’ll add y’all later
I didn’t say you did. The point is that it’s the same 2/3HKO regardless versus Togekiss. One is guaranteed, the other is not and will get you killed. Sure it’s has a “heightened” (if you call a 12.5% heightened) chance of a crit, but it also has a higher chance that it will miss completely. And if you’re using it multiple time’s, it’s likely it will.
Gyarados is going to OHKO you with Ice Fang anyway, so rather than relying on a Hail Mary Stone Egde and hoping it both hits **AND **crits I would switch out. I’m not worrying about whether poison jab doesn’t do anything to get past them. Stone Edge likely wouldn’t either ~9/10. Mandibuzz is going to 2HKO you with Foul Play before you even get the chance to try and hit her 3 times (lol) with SE. Again I’m switching out, not put hope in a 12.5% chance of a crit hit.
I have a standard fare Garchomp and a non-standard one. My Poison Jab Chomp is not “252/252”, but bulky and specifically built for my team. I run PJ because I like the 30% Scald-like poison chance in combination with psuedo-phazing with Dragon tail. Plus, I have more than one pokemon that can throw rocks or shoot electricity. I don’t need SE on it.
Yo hook me up with dat 6IV Ditto son! Po’s Pokemon Ranch will explode*(or at least it would if I could PokéBank some shit… C’mon, Nintendo, get on the ball…)*!
If there’s any of those 6IV Dittos left after the posts b4 me I’ll take one!
MORE IMPORTANTLY, I need a Rotom from somebody… IVs do not matter, preferably Calm nature. I’m too impatient to wait until Tuesday and everyone on GTS is demanding legendaries…
lol ya i just leave it on with the charger attached im afk a lot of times sorry if someone tries to battle me while im sitting there idle.
To clear this garchomp mess up I think mood is just talking about Scarf chomp in which he is right the best coverage is Outrage/EQ/Stone edge/ fire fang or fire blast. With regards to other chomps I am sure there are other builds that do the job for you. However when talking on a forum (next time lets use the competitive thread) geared to help people it probably isn’t good to suggest sub optimal scarf builds. If you are just telling everyone that you are using it? Who cares? Obviously its good to suggest new builds if you have the numbers for them, but this didn’t seem like a suggestion or question to me. I am sorry if that sounds mean but it doesn’t need extra clutter.
With different EV’s / items / builds I am sure there might be a case were poison jab could be better to use against something.
