Yeah, Fairies had to go and force Garchomp to actually use more of his movepool. The only fairy I even like is Togekiss… and Klefki…
i prefer poison jab over iron head if garchomp’s going to run something against fairies.
I use poison jab cause does more to that water rabbit where iron head is neutral.
earthquakes BP is 150 when accounting for stab
poison jab and iron head have 160 BP when SE, it’s not really worth it to carry those moves, as this only leaves togekiss to cover, who takes more from stone edge than either of those moves (200 BP move)
leaving his fourth move to be fire fang/fire blast to nab those KOs on ferrothorn and skarmory
there is no reason to run poison jab or iron head for fairy coverage when his EQ deals almost as much damage as they do and provides a more threatening attack

i’m not going to calc klefki, mawile, and togekiss as EQ (for klefki and mawile) and Stone Edge (for togekiss) definitely do more damage to the pokes than either poison jab and iron head, there is literally no reason to run either of these moves on garchomp as these are the only 2 fairies you would worry about with his standard move choices of dragon move/EQ/stone edge/fire move

My chomps are choice (banded or scarfed depends on team) so I hit and run regardless but while I’m in I might as well get the sure damage. I value accuracy over power and to a lesser degree speed. Your calcs just proved that Poison jab does more. I have been successful with it and will keep it thank you very much. Jab’s chance to poison has worked as well over the chance to crit with stone edge whcih is more consistent and works with my team. I just don’t run stone edge cause I have missed too many times in the past both on online sims and on my DS to cost me a match.
