I don’t get the banning aegislash. I really don’t.
And I don’t get what’s so tough about mega mawile that a burn or intimidate can’t solve.

Switch into Mega Mawile unscathed, hope it didn’t sub up. That’s basically why he’s a pain, he severely dents anything that switches in and if he gets a sub up…you’re pretty much screwed.
Aegislash is the most limiting Pokemon out there, he severely hurts the viability of Fairy, Fighting, Psychic and Dragon types to the point where a lot of the Pokes are unviable solely because of him. He barely got banned by vote (60% vote needed, he had 62%). Hopefully, this opens up the Showdown metagame and allows more things to be viable (I’m looking forward to fucking shit up with Hawlucha and Staraptor). Don’t follow it if you don’t want. It makes sense in a ladder format as a lot of things were limited solely by his existence.

Krookodile does work, but it has to be wary of Sacred Sword… Bulky Krook can take it after the Intimidate and Finish Aegis with an EARFQUAKE, although my favorite is to Swagger the King’s Shield, then Foul Play the thing before it can move… Oh, wait, can’t do that anymore on Showdown, lol…
You know damn well that the only thing that limits meta viability are those who choose to limit it. It isn’t going to open up shit.
Aegislash was only banned so they could ban other things easier. They aren’t even making any attempts to hide that.

Everything limits viability, some things more so than others. Aegislash limited by far the most things, so they banned him in hopes of opening things up. It’s not perfect but what else are they going to do? The choices are let Aegislash run the metagame or see if you can create variety by banning it. They went with choice B.
Hawlucha and Staraptor are still gonna have to deal with Mawile, who is going to surge in use…
It resists all their STABs and otherwise fucks up their day.
Zard X and Y are going to be shown the door in a month, bet it.
Mawile is neutral to fighting but Mega Mawile is fucking stupid as it is anyways.
Zard X probably will, he fits as well as Aegislash does on teams with the best typing in the game. His versatility is out the wazoo. He sweeps way too easily. Zard Y isn’t going anywhere for a while.
You do realize that vanilla Mawile was re-typed to Steel/Fairy, not just Mega Mawile, so it does indeed resist Fighting.
It’s neutral to fighting…Steel is weak to fighting, Fairy resists it, and Steel/Fairy is neutral to fighting:
+2 252+ Atk Hawlucha High Jump Kick vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Mawile: 304-358 (100 - 117.7%) – guaranteed OHKO
And again, variety only matters in the hands of those who would actually use it.
There will be no variety in the Showdown meta, there never is. The only thing that changes is that a couple of Pokemon will stop running EQ. That’s it. The pokemon that aren’t being used much? They still won’t be used that much, Aegislash is not the only reason they’re down there. There isn’t going to be a resurgence of Staraptor. Mega Medicham won’t take the meta by storm. It just means people will be a bit more lazy when it comes to move selection and team selection. Instead of creating variety it will stifle it.

There is a lot of variety on Showdown. Aegislash only had 23% usage, while close to 1/4 teams is still better than what you get on ranked Wifi battles where everyone uses Mega Kangaskhan/Blaziken/Aegislash/Rotom-W/Filler/Filler.
Here is a top of my head list of all Pokemon who benefit from Aegislash leaving:
Sylveon, Hawlucha, Staraptor, Mega Gardevoir, Mega Pinsir, Mega Heracross, Mega Medicham, Latios, Latias, Alakazam, Mega Alakazam, Togekiss, Terrakion, Greninja, Breloom, Chansey, Clefable, Conkeldurr, Lucario, Gengar, Scizor, Mega Scizor. Slowbro, Skarmory, Tyranitar, Mega Tyranitar, Gotithelle, Magnezone, Tornadus, Tornadus-T, Azelf, etc.
That’s a fuckton of Pokemon who just got a whole lot better because of the ban.
Most of which will likely up for suspect tests now because Aegislash was the glue that kept a LOT of stupid shit in the meta in check. With it gone there’s no way M-Pinsir, M-Heracross, M-Mawile, M-Medicham, M-Gardevoir , the Genies and the like are sticking around. This ban doesn’t open up the meta at all. On the contrary, it’s the first step in order to get a bunch of other pokes out of it. That fact has been clearly stated on the boards over there.
I’d actually quit playing on cartridge and only played on showdown for the past couple of months. I had 4 or so accounts with 1500-1700s and made the ladder, but this just killed my desire to play there anymore. Horrible decision and I don’t even like or use Aegislash. Lots of people who were eligible to, didn’t vote because there is a noted pro-stall bias on Smogon right now where anything that seemingly doesn’t fall to lame stall shit (like Slash) gets touted as being “too good” for the meta. They’ve become sick of the bs and moved back to cart or onto PokeBattle.

Why not just make an alternative OU were Aegislash and megas are good to go. Or send most of them to ubers hell they have the stats and the movepools. Might aswell seperate them. Granted I hate this ban shit. Just play the fucking game. I bodied and Aegislash today with Dnite. No pronlem. People act like scrubs that cry have to be catered to step yo shit up.
