I tried searching on the boards for info on this, but since it’s such a specific question perhaps it’s better if I just ask (hopefully it won’t be that much of a stupid question):
Is it possible to perform links on gamepads or these can only be done on a stick? I’m trying to learn Rose on my SF IV for PC but it seems impossible to plink on a gamepad (and it’s a must to link with her since her main BnB uses a 1-frame link: cr. lp, cr. lk, cr. mp xx MK Spiral) and I don’t have the money to purchase a Stick (and probably won’t for a long, long time). Also I live outside the U.S.
Should I just uninstall the game and give up on it or are there another ways to performs links consistently on a gamepad? This is the one I have (Genius Maxfire g-08x2):
It was quite cheap but like I said I have no more money. Is there anything I can do with this? (also, is it possible to Kara-Cancel and Kara Throw with a gamepad like this one?).
Possible, sure. Easy? Nope. You’re going to have hell plinking and kara-cancelling unless you use (multiple) fingers for the buttons, at which point you’ve got to worry about holding the pad steady with just one hand.
You don’t even have to plink to do 1-frame links though. It’s just a matter of timing your button presses correctly.
It’s a culoquialism (I’m pretty sure I spelled that wrong - posting from a mobile device here) derived from “giving hell”. It means it’s going to be very (or more literally, hellishly) difficult to do. Not impossible, but likely more trouble that it’s worth.
