I repeat my argument - how is the infinite obsolete? Mixup has a point, that the infinite is less useful with RP assist since you can tag on so much extra damage. But seriously, everyone should stop using it because Justin and Sanford don’t base their gameplay around it? I’m willing to bet that it’s simply not as useful when you’re looking for quick and fast damage output.
I’ve never said that the infinite should be used in place of resets, but I am saying that 45 hits then hypergrav XX Tempest XX DHC to hail or PC will do solid damage. Also [I’m thinking about Mag/Storm/XX teams here] it matters on how your opponents team is ordered. If it’s Storm/Sent/Commando, then I’d rather go for fierces and reset Storm for the kill. That leaves Mag still on point, and I’d feel more comfortable with Mag vs Sent/Capcom than Storm vs Sent/Cap. But if it’s Sent/Storm/Commando, then shit, I’d whore out the ifinite till 45 hypergrav blah blah and then have either a dead or a really fucked up Sentinel that will have to DHC out. Whatever happens, most likely it’ll be Storm vs Storm, rather than the annoying matchup of Mag vs Storm.
Maybe I am being too radical. I meant to say that you can do better things. Its like Sentinel’s basic air combo. You can hurt with it, but you hurt more with ffly.
Higher-Jin, all I posted is guaranteed. I meant a different combo in each comma (5 fierce is one, the shockwave combo + capcom followed with dhc is another, and there you go, no resets).
Hey Mixup, remember that time Justin scraped you at ECC? Remember who paid for your ticket? Yea. So are you going to pay me back and the rest of Gainesville back, or you’re gonna keep ignoring us? Our patience is limited.
no I dont know who you are nor do I give a shit. from the way you speak of yourself I would say your about 1/10 the size of your ego. quit your bitchin
Okay, now I smell what you’re smoking. You’re saying that, in the very narrow situation of Magneto getting a ground to ground hit, he might want to combo into something besides ROM. :xeye:
Yeah, five fierce does a grip of damage off of RP with a stupid reset game, and it’s simple enough to execute that even I could probably do it with my famously bad uglyMagnus.com. And comboing into shockwave or whatever could do more damage with simpler execution as well.
BUT… Magneto, and any other of the top four chars in the game, are seperated from the rest primarily in their ability to ruin you whether it’s in the air or on the ground. That’s what really has created the modern top tier – it’s not what they can do to you near the ground, it’s what they can do to you anywhere on the screen. Without the ROM, Magneto isn’t on that list.
So if your Magneto only hits things on the ground, then yeah, you might not want to bother with ROM. If you’re going to really compound an air-to-air game though, it’s still very much something worth learning to use consistently.
I think I said that already. You can do a couple reps to place the opp in a better position to do something else. Either way, the very narrow situation you mention seems to be the standard in those Justin vs Sanford matches I mentioned, with just 2 Roms in 30 minutes, both to kill an already dying character…
