Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale Announced

There is no way to do 1v1 unless you start a versus match and then invite someone.

Got and played for the first time tonight. I enjoy Spike but I feel like his Supers are not as strong as the rest I see online. Perhaps once I build meter better and time his Level 2 all right I will be golden, but he strikes me as more of a 1v1 character. Though I do feel I am not using enough of my FFA moves, like shock cannon, rang, and radar.

I just saw Dante’s moves in training and really like him, but I do not if I feel comfortable playing such a popular character that I’ve never played the game of. I need to get over loyalty and just pick people I win with for once.

Is there a difference between Spike and Parappa’s Lv3?

Check it out guys. Jebailey is streaming some 2v2 All Stars now.

Sometimes when someone dies in FFA they stay invisible and their indicator never lights up but they are still on the field doing damage and supers and most likely winning. Does this happen to anyone else and if so is it only 1 player not seeing them or are they invisible to everything?

So today I played 1v1 with friends.

There’s no way it could work in a tournament setting. This game is not designed with 1v1 in mind at all. If you want to, you can run around all over the place and and draw out a match like 20 minutes. This is because you can’t play timed and stock at the same time. The stages are so massive that it takes absolutely forever to kill somebody.

The best way to kill someone in 1v1 is to combo into super… but because there’s no timer, if you wanted to avoid being killed you could just run around in circles for 10 minutes to avoid getting hit.

Playing on smaller stages like Dojo or Bioshock solve this problem. Give this game sometime, soon the metagame will be figured out.

so is kratos any different from his beta version? i wanna know.

This game is revealing people inner smash brothers feeling they have been hiding for a long time.

You can just play timed. I’m not a 1v1 guy but I never understood why stock is such a necessary for that game type.

2v2 is the way to go from what I’ve seen so far, it’s a lot of fun since 1v1 is hella boring and FFA is a huge cluster fuck.

To you maybe.

I like both 1v1 and 2v2 even though I prefer 1v1 since there is less happening.

Give it time, I’d imagine it will be quite a few people also.

1v1 is fine. I played it Saturday at my birthday party and we ended up running a mini tournament. Did the same today at work.
I’m really liking Daniel and I pretty much love the game. I’m going to go buy it tomorrow before the girlfriend comes over. She’s excited about playing it too. She’s never got my thing for fighting/competitive games but she’s been wanting to try this one since she heard about it.

All I’m saying is I don’t agree with you and I will probably never agree with you. I’ve said it before in this thread, but if the tournament standard rules become 2v2 only, I’m out. I do not enjoy this game in teams or FFA.

I haven’t had any chance to play actual 1v1 but quite a few times Ive actually just ran most of the match in FFA until it was 1v1…(just gotta make sure to get throws on fools getting close to lvl3) and I def prefer the game 1v1. 2v2 wtih someone who knows what they are doing will probably be good as well.

Also I have found an inconsistent way to test if things are actually dodgeable or not with supers (since obv autoguard doesn’t work) If you set the dummy to dodge and then you go behind them alot of times they won’t dodge the first hit. Its not always like this but it does work. The other thing that works is if you turn on your attack data and then look at AP chain, I think if something doesn’t combo into super you won’t get a negative AP chain.

So for instance fat princess f+circle ~ super says AP chain -130 so then it worked but not other stuff.

JohnGrimm :Using this I was trying combos to heihachi lvl1 and I couldn’t find one outside of raijin ~ super. I thought you said f+Square ~ super works but it is actually dodgeable it seems. Of course if they dodge it and you predict heihachi actually has a hella good roll punish game (d+Square, Raijin, etc) just wondering what your thoughts were.

Maybe 1v1 will grow on me, but any 2v2 that comes down to 1v1 can take fucking ages to finish up… could be just how the matchups are though. It’s only been a day so perhaps I’ll see differently after some time and people start killing much quicker.

Personally I’m leaning more toward 1v1 just because it feels less random but 2v2 is pretty fun too. I’ve been having fun with FFA as well. I haven’t had much issues with run away in 1v1 but I guess that’s why timed mode would probably be best.

I don’t think I said f+1, but if I did I apologize. What I meant was JUMP 1. If the second hit of jump 1 lands they go into that kneel state and pretty much the second you touch the ground you instantly recover and have plenty of time to combo into the level 1. Or at least training mode dummies set to dodge don’t seem to be able to dodge the super unless you heavily delay it, so unless the dodge isn’t set to the first frame it should combo.

Okay sick, I thought that would work. F+1 is still a decent frame trap to set it up as well. I wonder if you can combo jump 1 off anything… I doubt it. Heihachi is actually pretty cool in this game. His jump is really fast and he has great movement speed. Plus good combos!
