Off of electric grenade, I just jump up and do forward square since it knocks him across the screen. That’s all I focus on; getting my opponents as far away as possible.
Well, I tried doing max-range and it doesn’t work for me. I like the mid-range / absolute neutral / control style more. Throwing orbs, getting setups, what have you. Gotta figure out a way to get better oki.
Anyone wanna play 2v2 with me? Just send a request. ‘MajutsuKyokai’ is the PSN tag. :3
It’s the same reason why semi serious/serious people in Smash turn off items. They’re nice and all and I’m sure at first people will use them but later on, they’ll be turned off. Unless for the occasional casual match. That hammer in Smash (on GC) was hilarious.
I don’t think the items need to be turned off in this game for serious play, they’re not strong enough to make them ban worthy but still interesting enough I think they should be kept.
Items got turned off in Smash do how items work in that game. If a random create spawns above you you could possibly get killed by it. There’s stuff like being able to throw them for easy smashes and a couple items like the fan being completely broken. None of the items in this game have the issues items have in Smash.

Man, I didn’t know there were so many references!
The only one I noticed early on was the Ape Escape one. The rest went right over my head. That’s actually really cool.
PS All Stars makes it way to MLG Dallas, free for everyone to play with a $5000 prize money

The public match community is hilarious. Imagine a high-pitched voice screaming “IF I WAS PLAYING KRATOS I COULD TOTALLY OWN YOU”.
Ahahahaha.
Edit : Also had a 1v1. That shit is FUN. Radec can actually rush that shit down like crazy in 1v1.
Sly vs Radec:
Sly has both a glide and a super jump (u.X). There is no reason he should be stupidly falling into a shock grenade or the electric field. But beyond that the reason Sly has an easy time with Radec is because of his counter (n.O). Any attempts at zoning Sly with Radec’s sniper is for naught when any Sly will counter it on reaction. The important thing about this counter is that it works on everything not a super (including most items) and positions him in the same place upon activation. This counter stuns the opponent and lets Sly get off a free backstab, leeching 20 meter and causing a knockdown. This lets Sly pressure Radec for free up close with Sly’s superior normals, tick throws from n.S and what have you.
Parappa vs Radec:
Parappa has a good matchup against Radec but Radec can still zone Parappa. Radec can cover Parappa’s divekick trajectories with the shock grenade and the electric field and Parappa doesn’t have an answer for Radec’s sniper at long range. However, because of Parappa’s generally above average movement, with his quasi air dash (f.O) quasi dive move (d.S) divekick (air f.T) and good walkspeed, Parappa can still work his way through Radec’s zoning and this is where Parappa shines the brightest. Parappa can easily punish most of Radec’s moves, and any punish from Parappa will result with the following combo triggering the infinite prevention system and getting 130-140 meter a punish. This also goes with the fact that he has good oki with tech chasing with the mic or air dash and pressuring with n.S (which he can trigger IPS off of) and tick throws off n.S (which the up throw variant actually sets up a combo opportunity). Whatever meter gain Radec had before Parappa got in will most likely be rendered moot as Parappa can get his Level 2 off three combos that trigger IPS.
Kratos vs Radec:
Kratos is just a dumb character and in this version of the game he really does well against everybody. Kratos’ counter (n.O), like Sly, can punish sniper shots from a good deal away and crumple on hit which will allow Kratos to close the distance or, even worse, land a solid combo off a midscreen counter. From there Radec is at the bane of Kratos’ solid chain normals that are much safer than they should be considering the range they cover and general Kratos tomfoolery. I could also say he counters projectiles at midscreen with his charging spear attack (f.T) but the counter already does that with a stupid ass reward on top of it.
So yeah that’s just how I feel about these matchups. I’m Welcome to constructive criticism
So I’m not the only one who feels as though Sly owns Radec. Grenades, primarily d.S, can do a good job in giving you cover in order to set up an electric, of which he’s forced to hit you from angles that Radec can cover fairly well with more grenades. Avoid sniper, use plenty of u.T, and hope that your grenades keep him out. I’ve found myself using a lot of d.O / n.O / n.T against Sly.
Edit : Up throw into u.T is godlike. Use it a lot as Radec. It’s his best option. :3
Opponents found
Connecting…
10-20 minutes later, still trying to find matches. Oh the joys of matchmaking.
Well, the matches were great, Hawkingbird. You gotta use that n.O a bit more when enemies move poorly and/or whenever you think you can get it. If you hit with it, they can still attack for a bit, but then they explode and fly away. It’s a good ‘get off me’ tool that actually has decent meter gain, and if you get a sniper shot before the explosion, you gain like a bar of meter. :3
Did some 2v2 with Morgan. Feels like a completely different game than FFA. Radec’s level 1 far more useful in 2v2 than in FFA. There may be hope for Sweet Tooth’s level 2 yet. They need to fix matchmaking. We spend a long time trying to play other people. Opponents were ‘found’ but never got to connect to them.
That’s what n.O is for? I been trying to use figure out what the hell that did. I’ve been using n.Triangle as my get off me move. I’ll make use of it
n.T is more of a neutral / anti-ground stuff. Good for pressure and forcing an enemy to block, which is pretty damn useless in FFA outside of the neutral poking uses. Even in FFA, I use his lv1 a shitton. It feels more meter-efficient when you make sure you get one/two kills per use. It’s also far less punishable than lv2. I generally am too impatient for lv3. Either way, lv1 is definitely the super of choice in 2v2. 'Specially when you get a doublekill and then plant tons of shit everywhere.
Apparently sniping whatever Parappa is juggling during n.SSSS won’t pop the enemy out, so you can snipe that guy like three times for a whole bar. I did it in FFA against some parappa who was juggling a fat princess. Gave me an lv1 at the start of the match.
Also, another note I forgot to mention. air u.S is godlike for air-to-air battles where they’re hovering down. You can beat pretty much anything with it.
the beta is fun but i want to play some sir daniel fortesque. i played the crap out of both MediEvil games. One of my Favorte playstation characters next to the parasite eve chick. Hell why the hell is she not in this game. She would have been cool character.
I want to play him too. Dunno if I’d drop Radec for him though, just because I really, really like Radec. I’m comfortable with orb characters so he makes me happy.
So i just played some FFA matches. I found that I had trouble against Sly and Kratos (obviously). I’ve been using Sweet Tooth and Radec mainly.
Kratos is just stupid how good he is without trying. i tried him out and I really had no trouble putting in work, but I didn’t have fun like I did with Radec and Sweet Tooth. Sly is someone I will need to look out for, I could not figure out why he kept catching me, I guess I better mess with him to figure out some tricks.
Things I noticed so far: I noticed that if you are in the air with Sweet Tooth I would do down heavy, which throws down a land mine, then I would follow up with down+light (knee drop). It seemed to keep me safe if I was recovering from a hit, so there may be some options as to how to set up traps with him. Radec is nice on the long range, sniping cats is really dope, and there is a way to use his lightning line thing in the air which can deter people from jumping to escape.
Honestly I have only played five matches, so I am still figuring the game out. It is really fun though, I am working on my throw game, as well as trying to figure out some dodge tech. I really wish they would give us a practice mode. I hate learning like this, lol.
There’s no actual “light” or “heavy” attacks, so that wording doesn’t make the most sense. We should probably come up with terminology that we all use so we don’t have a million names for the same attacks. Tekken style 1, 2, 3 maybe? Or perhaps A, B, C so people could use number notation or anything else.
You’re right, my mistake. Well I guess Square (S), Triangle (T) and Circle © could work. I do like the idea of Tekken style notation though (probably because I play Tekken).
So what I was saying earlier to clarify is: With Sweet Tooth, while ine the air do down+circle (d:+ C) and follow up with down+square (d:+ S). I hope this makes a bit more sense.
