Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale Announced

No one else has thoughts on NIS/A characters…

I think 1v1, 2v2, and free for all should be in tournies. Free for all would make for some interesting mind games. choosing to team up with someone to take down the leader one moment, then going after each other the next. It would be a nice new thing to see in the tournaments.

How a game plays in a tournament is not my main concern either. First is if it’s fun to play in general. That is the key.

It sure would. Play Heihachi, pick Dojo stage, win.

I just don’t think Nisa or whatever characters are that popular, certainly not in the US and I doubt they would help sales very much if at all. People wanna see Spyro,Crash, Snake, not those guys. They just don’t appeal to where this game seems to be marketed towards.

I think 2v2 is the happy medium but in my perfect world I think free4all is where this game would be the most entertaining to watch and probably play as well.

In other games like the new Injustice I want them to be both tourney worthy and fun but this…meh as long as it’s fun and the online is stable I’ll be happy with it. If this game never shows up at any FGC tournament I’d still play it.

Any ideas on what stages should get in? A Loco Roco stage with tilting as a hazard would be pretty sweet.

Where’s Snake

That would be cool. I think Disgaea should have a stage. Perhaps Laharl’s castle, and you mix in Sly cooper maybe?

Well… technically he didn’t first appear on a playstation system… though neither did big daddy so they are throwing that requirement out the window.

I just thought of 2 more characters that would be great in this game.

Kat(Gravity Rush)

Gravity Rush was… the most fun I had playing a game in awhile. Sure the combate wasn’t the best, but the characters, the other controls, the story, the setting, it really just sucks you right in. The story, while confusing at times, I really liked, and Kat is a great protagonist. You really get to know her and care about her as she grows and learns about the world along with you.

Her powers of gravity and her kicking abilities would make her a very fun and unique character. Launched herself at the foe, picking up objects, and people, and throwing them, her sliding attacks, and changing gravity so she can walk on the walls and ceiling would make her an excellent long range/keepaway character. She even already has 3 super moves she could use.

This series is obviously going to be a big franchise, and I think putting her in this game would help her popularity grow.

Gwendolyn or Velvet(Odin Sphere) or Lillet Blan(GrimGrimoire)

Vanillaware has only been making games since 2007, but the beauty and quality of the games are top notch. As a almost PS exclusive company, they would be a good choice. I had a hard time picking who should be in the game, so I choose the 1st 2 games they released, and the main characters from them. Odin Sphere has many, so I put the most well known 2. Gwen is a valkyrie, Velvet is a princess. Both use a good assortments of attacks. I think Item combining and usage should be a part of their game plan. Lillet is a witch in training, and she uses magic to summon minions to defeat evil monsters. Her game is a real time stratagy game, and I think that would be an very interesting playstyle in a fighting game. Perhaps she herself has very few attacks, but her goal is to keep away and keep spawning creatures to attack for her, protect her, and so forth.

I would be happily surprised if Disgaea was used in this game

It be cool to see any of the NIS crew. Those characters ain’t strangers to crossovers.

This is who I’d like to see.

Forgive me if this has been posted before but I didn’t see it. I just thought it was neat they put a vid out showing nothing but how ill timed supers could amount to nothing.

… I have not idea who these people are. What game are they from?

That’s really cool. There is going to be a lot of stratagy in this game, and you can’t just throw out supers, unless you have the cinematic ones.

I love how people are just posting pics of random anime looking characters now like they have a chance. This is a mainstream game people if a group of nerds like us can’t tell who they are their chances suck.

I shouldn’t have google the character you’re posting when i grew up playing jrpg’s is all Im saying.

Dude, Legend of Dragoon. Go play it now, you will be doing yourself a great service.

Haha. Yeah, I took it back to some old-school with those two. They’re from the PS1 days. An underrated Sony-published RPG called The Legend of Dragoon, which some people hold as being almost on par with Final Fantasy VII. The real meat of the game comes from its featured “Additions”-style combo system implemented during battles. That combo system made that game hella fun to playthrough (even for multiple runs) so you could see all the combos for each character.

Here are some videos:

Collection of Lloyd attacks:

Lloyd was a bona-fide BAMF in this game! If you can happen upon a copy of this game, consider it a gem. One of a short list of timeless PS classics that everyone should get a chance to check out!

I simply said I’d like to see those characters in the game. I said nothing implying that I expected them to be. Calm down.

Also, if you have to Google information about a character someone mentions, it just a sign that you, personally, are not one who holds fond gaming memories of said character. That’s not a bad thing. Not everyone plays the same set of games over the years. And even names like Cloud Strife, Solid Snake, Crash Bandicoot, etc. don’t “ring a bell” for some people.

I was laughing writing my post so I dunno who’s mad here. And those names ring a bell for 99% of the people who would show up to a place to see this game or people wanting to just fight with sony characters.

I just feel this thread shouldn’t be filled with videos and pics of characters who have like little to no chance of being playable. I respect that you love the games but I gotta laugh at these random characters from old games being posted.

I just tweeted Superbot to consider Jen from Primal and Nariko from Heavenly Sword

https://twitter.com/superbotent

go crazy. I would appreciate support for females characters.

You know from what I can tell everyone who is in this game has a level representing the game they came from.

Except that there’s a Ratchet and Clank level, but no Ratchet and Clank…

Fat Princess, PaRappa and Toro are in the game. The former from a PSN game who most people haven’t heard of until her inclusion in this game, the other hasn’t had a new game since the PS2’s launch window and a cat who’s only known in Japan. I don’t think obscure characters ain’t gonna have a problem making it into this game. My nigga Dart chances are as good as those characters.

If you find humor in people posting up characters they’d like to see in the game, that’s your business. No need to make an issue about it as if people are doing something wrong just because you don’t “feel” like it suits the thread. It’s like laughing at someone just for having a different opinion than you.
