Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale Announced

…which is pretty much what the community turned Brawl into.

Well I was talking about 1v1. Level 1’s are going to be used a lot more in singles. With 4 people on the screen, yeah I don’t see much reason to use his level 1.

Even in 1v1 I don’t see Heihachi’s Level 1 being all that useful, because it still has bad range and it’s still slow as hell. Just being able to throw out Kuma and chase someone down for an almost guaranteed kill seems like a better option.

Spending 1 meter for a kill is better than spending 2 meters for a kill. Obviously the game isn’t out yet, the meter management game will be interesting.

Spending 1 meter to miss is worse than spending 2 meters to kill.

Hence the idea of getting someone to try to block an unblockable.

Supers can be dodged. It doesn’t matter if it’s unblockable. They have options to avoid it

Not only that, but you roll while holding block even. So if someone is blocking and you go for super, all they have to do is push a direction and they’re out scott free.

You can escape grabs in pretty much any fighting game, yet people still get thrown…

Most throws don’t generally have 60+ frame startup and whiff at anything further than point blank range.

@JohnGrimm
How good were Nathan Drake and Big Daddy for the demo at EVO? Not sure if you played everyone but I wanted to get an idea of who to avoid playing as for this game.

…the game is new, the characters are still obviously being worked on, and you want a tier list?

Well now.

Level 1 supers need to be solid, comboable KO generators.

Level 2’s need to be REALLY good, pretty much guaranteed versions of lvl 1’s without a need for a combo but not much more destructive with exceptions depending on character archetype.

Level 3’s need to be gimmicky bullshit.

Throws need to drain a LOT more meter than they do now, and DIRECTLY give the thrower 25-30% of the meter lost.

Result: Solid fucking fighting game.

I never stated tier list in my statement, I asked how Nathan Drake and Big Daddy were in this game and if they were horrible or good.

We don’t know yet because the game basically doesn’t exist.

Wait until release dude. No point in talking about good/garbage until the game is out. What we’ve seen so far is Alpha build, apparently.

This game really intrigues me. I am a fan smash brothers and crossover games. The gameplay looks fun, but the way you score seems weird to me. I need to play it to fully get into it.

Anyway, The next 10 characters I would love to see in this game are as follows:

Ratchet and Clank: Obvious choice.
Jack and Daxter: Also Obvious Choice.
Cole: Another Obvious Choice.
Crash Bandicoot: The original mascot of the Playstation
Spyro the Dragon: The other mascot.
Sephiroth: The first FF game on the Playstation, and would be much more interesting to play as then Cloud
Etna(Disgaea): Nippon Ichi is one of Playstations most loyal companies, and truely deserves a spot on the Roster. Etna I think would bring the most unique and fun gameplay, and she could include Prinnies in her attacks as well. Not sure if she would be in 3D or a beautiful sprite to keep the Disgaea look.
Selvaria(Valkyria Chronicles)/KOSMOS/Virginia Maxwell(Wild Arms 3): The VC series is very popular, even with only 3 games. Selvaria would be a very unique character to have in this game with her giant lance of death. KOSMOS is an iconic JRPG character in the Playstation universe, and would have a very unique and fun playstyle. The Wildarms series is also very popular, and only on the Playstation. Virginia would be a very good character to have from the series. Really, ANY JRPG character should be in this game, because that is a big reason why the Playstation is so popular, especially in Japan. Not having at least 1 character in it will exclude a HUGE amount of the playstation fandom.
Sackboy: Need I say More?
Kevin Butler: You have the Japanese Mascot of Playstation, you have to put in the American Mascot. Kevin is extreemly Popular, and an all star. Him being in this game would be amazing.

to catch up with the info we got so far…

I’m going to preface this with that what I played was an Alpha build and all things are subject to change, but that being said:

Nathan Drake SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKED. His moves have some very annoying properties, like the barrel is a really silly thing to just throw out and his drop move in the air you absolutely cannot challenge, but he sucks at meter building and if you can’t build meter you can’t win. He’s got really good supers though, so when you do get a level or two you can assure that you have a good chance of hitting someone. He might get better, so when the game comes out try him, because he does have good priority.

Big Daddy was ridiculous. He would run through everyone’s attacks all day long, often hitting 2 or 3 people at the same time giving him a lot of meter. He’s also got a shock attack that freezes people in place and almost always lets you follow up. The only one who could really STOP him from directly doing anything was Heihachi unless you want to get into supers. As far as his supers go, his level 1 sucks, but his level 2 and level 3 are AMAZING. You’re almost always guaranteed 2 or 3 kills with his level 2 and his level 3 is 3+ kills free all the time unless you mess up.

I imagined Big Daddy being somewhat Hulk - like in this game. I want to see what they do to Sly though before its release.
