Played with Maximillian last night

Depending on the amount of lag, I’ve lost to Elena’s who do nothing but spam specials (get in with rhino horn, then mallet smash and lynx all day) and wake up supers.

One of my favorites (in general) is when I whiff a move right before someone gets up to bait a wakeup super, but oops, it looks they woke up sooner than they’re supposed to, and I’m eating the super I knew they were going to throw out. Woo.

Netplay is such a pain, but it’s all I have. And I’d bet anyone who still plays offline is probably way better than me anyway. Bleh.

I’ve played Elena’s on PSN who would do fullscreen Rhino Horn and it was safe…

Don’t leave out Ken. I want to call people fisherman or a Megaman boss sometimes. Even if the comeback might be that I’m taking their powers or something but they probably won’t even follow; beating them doesn’t ever change what they’re doing. As they don’t even follow what their opponent does in game.

(you’ll learn a million more movement options vs Opening round jump back Air Zankuu though. Remy Cold Blue kick for movement into crouch fierce++all the way in the corner)

That thread with the videos. Just take the Ken and Chun when it gets crazy. Even though youtube can’t keep up and its higher level play supplemented by some hate.

Walking in and out of range of Chun pressing every button, knowing they’re backing up and aren’t pressuring. Just holding ground or really, walking away and putting themself in the corner. You hear it sometimes of baiting and taking care of a laggy normal by getting right in their face after it whiffs. Their whiff is a mistake, even as fast as that low attack was and what it can lead to if it hit. The person they didn’t hit was a step ahead, wasn’t scared, and used it to their advantage without needing to parry(+punish default move after a parry that works most of the time) as the only way to fight against it. Being just out of range watching and ready to get in there. He wanted Chun to whiff that move again. Recovery frames exist and no move is infallible.

That’s not going to happen online so you might end up trying to parry more and never get into a counter poke, war of attrition, knocked down that many times by just throws and being pushed or stuffed into a corner. And more sick stuff happens all the time. Weird stuff just happens online. Like Chun doesn’t exist, but Sean does. Dash up low guard, in time?! A lot of characters are XCOPYing 12 with going invisible during those frame drops.

Or just,
there’s 0 ping offline.
And taunting = you get punched in the face outside the game.

Oh and even with no giant KO sound, you feel the KO more, or things like Dudley combos ending in jUppah

Your avatar is pretty sweet @RadioFox‌ !

Thanks… it is essentially just:

WTF-AKUMA-HAX:

Seriously? lol

Yeah man I see you augmented an image like that but it’s still sweet with 3rd on da TV.

Also in person at an arcade when arcades had a place in society you might not get punched in the face for a taunt but you would have to face real anger from people if you did rude things. I did hear about a good but super cold player who would never talk to or look at the players he beat even if they spoke to him. At one point this very tall Hugo player said something to him and got a cold resaponse or none at all and he quickly received a coke can jammed in the side of his face. A Funland Arcade legend.

People who refuse to talk to you are the absolute worst. Especially in this day and age.

‘Hey, we share a super niche interest, maybe it would be worthwhile to speak to one another?’
’(no, I already know literally a few other people who like this game, and that is enough.)’

It’s society these days. There’s really not much else to say :frowning:

If our forefathers (sorry for possible misspelled) could see us, they would be so ashamed

During my military days I was stationed in Fort Lee, Virginia. I was alone with no friends and I traveled to a local mall to play MVC2 by myself. This dude would just come in all the time and beat me. I didn’t care that I lost, I made a legitimate effort to talk to him, play some sets, and get to know someone. I was completely ignore as if losing at a video game placed you somewhere between worthless and exiled. lol. People are just assholes I guess.

Fortunately not everyone is like that . @Dander, who I believe is ‘I’m the roughests’(xbl), beat me, took the time to critique my Ibuki and set me on my way. If it wasn’t for that, I still be scrubby. Socializing goes a long way.

That’s an awesome avatar. Is that Ashley Wood?

Oh that sentence, my head, what is going on??!

Dander you are bringing 3S mindgames into real life.

3s herbalife

That would also be to, you can’t punch that guy who keeps taunting, even after 1 round win only, because he’s all the way in S.America with the low bandwidth internet anyway. And in your own room, no pressure, no wonder so many weirdoes. Taunting only after their last game they want to play also happens after playing a bunch with 1 person, some strange calling card because its online, they’re not trying to be added to your list to play later even if you had a good match.

it’s always the guys with the high ping connections. a lot of brazilians, I’ve noticed.

but damn if I had to sleep on this couch I’d be mad at the world too
