whats with all the hate from Seattle? it’s like everyone there was born great at SF4. -_-
We’re all just trying to get better just like you guys were at one point. That’s the whole point of this.
Not everyone down here is free. Ive beat Deezo in small set, Elias in a small set, and ran toe to toe with Brent for like 15 matches at my first Playsmart tournament. Not saying I’m great, just that I’m not free. I’d say the same for about 6 or more other people there each week. not free.
@Terrance I’m takin that paper this time. XD
^Free is overused and misunderstood. A better description would be no consequence or if I saw he was my next match in the brackets I would think to myself yay! a bye, that’s nice. In that sense yes, yes you are. Casuals are good and somewhat indicative of play but nothing will compare to the actual style of play when money/tournament is on the line.
Terrance/Shred I would love to make a MM of upwards of 20$ FT5 if more than 100$ FT7. We don’t see you (shred I’ve don’t think I’ve ever seen you in person) ever at the weekend tourneys (for those of us with reg mon->fri) so it’d be nice to see if you can prove the staterments. It’s getting boring no one challenging people anymore so I challenge you both. Dojo?
Also anyone wanting side bets on KK v Terrance? I’ll give 2:1 odds in favor of KK.
No hate just doubt.
@Bokkin my work schedule is hectic, not to mention i need 2 save money 2 get my car fixed so i can make it out 2 the dojo, but we should schedule some money matches after the tournament on tuesday, north vs south style, thats right, everyone commin from the north end we will set that up.
oh yea also everybody that comes thro im gonna im gonna need ur guys contact so for the future i can list those who will attend
@ Bokkin I’m actually with Terrance on that. I can’t make it up to Seattle that much any more since my truck broke down. I made it up to 3 Twars sessions at the Best Western. I think I saw you at 1 of them but I didn’t get a chance to introduce myself. Anyway, you and I can play another set online or something, as I’ve definitely gotten better since you shut me out last time. But I can’t afford to put up money for money matches right now, though I wish I could.
So, online play doesn’t count and casuals don’t count? So it doesn’t matter how well I do against these well known, “not free”, players in those formats… if they beat me in the 2 out of 3 set in the actual tournament that’s the definitive answer.
I’m not trying to hate either, I just feel like that’s a little jaded. Or I just don’t agree with it. I dunno.
Probably both. Though the latter is incorrect. Might come out tomorrow, we’ll see. Carlos, you trying to be there?
@ every excuse in the book when that big money talk happens.
stay free
@Thefuture wen i say ill money match that means ill money match, u bet on shit all the time and im a man of my word
If I put up $20 and happen to lose, that’s 2 Playsmart sessions I can’t go to. Money is that tight. Can’t afford to gamble it on one game. Simple as that.
No excuses here. I’ll play anybody any time, but without money it’s just casuals… and those don’t count. 0:)
That’s the biggest excuse and hindrance to learning…casuals count if you’re actually trying to improve and prove something to anyone. Sure, it’s nothing to brag about, but at the same time look at it from the opposite perspective…it’s nothing to shrug off, either.
Just a tip.
Come out to the Dojo, I’m sure there’s gotta be some way to carpool from the south, drive to Renton and meet up with some people?
@ Duggish
lol, I was just being sarcastic at Bokkin’s expense. Just a joke.
In casuals I’m always playing to learn and to win. Casuals are really my favorite part of any tournament because of how much more I learn from them than a 2/3 tourney match. I definitely don’t shrug them off at all. That’s sort of the point behind my sarcasm.
Anyway, I will definitely try to make it to the dojo soon. I’ve wanted to for a long time. Might just bus it.
