You have people reading these forums all the time, im pretty sure all this shit talking would intimidate potential growth to the fighting community…If you’re going to shit talk, you should do it in person, instead of this online warrior thing. All you guys doing is alienating growth. If there is more talk about how awesome a tournament went, then maybe we can have bigger community.

Yall can say what you want, but Seattle has the softest mentalities when it comes to this game. The scene is a sad wreck with a couple people still holding on, trying to maintain what isn’t there to begin with. I called out shred because I hate his self destructive comments about how free he is, as well as the constant defense mechanism triggered when anyone feeds into his open self criticisms. Actions speak louder than words, and if he has a problem with his game play than I challenge him to do something about it instead of getting stuck in the “I’m so free” mentality. I’ve been doing alot to get the scene moving, which is more than I can say for 90% of the people who post in these threads defending the very thing they are hindering by doing nothing.Telling it how it is does not make me an ass hole or a fool, just real. Deal with it

There’s a difference between constructive criticism, challenging people’s mentalities, and just plain insulting people. I know from experience how words can be misinterpreted/misconstrued online because attitudes typed out aren’t what they are in person, but you need to keep that in mind when you get on the keyboard. You’ve definitely seemed downright smug and insulting on a few occasions lately.

Super chill in person- you’re a cool dude, but you might want to look at how your online persona has come off recently.

You can say what you want, but you have one of the cockiest mentalities when it comes to this game. The scene is a sad wreck with great players becoming content with second place, even feeling themselves over it, and thinking they can suddenly call players out on a whim.

I’m calling you out because I hate these ego surfing comments about how beast you are, as well as the constant defense mechanism where you quote great players talking about you or about your **collection of silver medals **whenever anyone brings up your performance here at home.

Actions speak louder than words and if you really think you’re skilled, then I challenge you to do something with it instead of getting stuck in the “I didn’t win but I’m filthy” mentality. I haven’t been doing alot to get the scene moving, but at least I’m not claiming that because I do it justifies some sort of bullshit complex I have going on right now.

Telling it how it is does not make one an ass hole or a fool. However, weighing out whether or not it’s necessary and then deciding whether or not you’re going to, does. Especially when you’re only looking outside of your box and haven’t taken a good look inside in a while. Step up your game, and I’m not talking street fighter.

Re-watching matches, I feel pretty smug because yes sometimes I’m filthy. Reviewing how I act versus who I am, I feel pretty content. Reflecting on where my life is and where I want it to be, I’m on the right track. I’m happier and more content right now than I have been in a while, and if that comes off smug, deal with it. seattle might not be “the home of hardbody” at super4, but check out the resume and there are beasts across games. super isnt the only game that matters.

The NW has this big fish in a small pond syndrome, every time somebody is good at something out here its easy to get blown out of proportion, all Im gonna say is yes Eman, you do have a sense of arrogance in how you view yourself, but hey, thats just part of the personality, if u wanna pat yourself on the back for taking a shit every morning thats your business, but my point is, if people arnt money matching, entering tournaments, or showing up at get togethers, then you have no business to be on here talking at all.

eman- real organization costs money. which we lack. this is the biggest roadblock to us. I agree there are other scenes that are doing bigger and better stuff (actually cali only). They got a lot more history, and players than us. also their network of people they know that have access to equipment, funds, or even technical knowledge is bigger than us.
OF course we are behind.

So listen man, we should try to get the PlaySmart casuals and tournaments up again. I know the turnout isn’t great but if we just do $5 casuals and the occasional $10 tourney then at least it’s something. Playing together in person is a great way to improve and it’s always a good time so I think we should just continue it for the time being. And you can still try to organize something big for the future.
