Not true, but you are right about 2004, since that was the only non-CPS3 version at the time. Once AE came out though (like a couple months after evo 2004), they switched to the PS2 version.

32 man bracket with 22 players will = a lot of byes. that is just how it works.
Also ive been eliminated by cole, bfm, tanaka at every single tourney. sometimes ill play tanaka, and get elim by cole. 2 and out thanks to the dojo guardians lol. ive played in alot of tourneys, and I dont complain cause thats just how tourneys go.
Cool tournament. It had a lot of epic matches to say the least. GGs to everyone I played.
I think what people mainly took issue with was when pyeek got the bye that he got. As I understood it, he got a bye towards the end of the winners bracket that sent him to the winners final, which shouldn’t happen (if that’s what did happen). At the time I was under the assumption that when Elias and Connor first played, that that match was the winners final, and at that time I didn’t even know pyeek was still in winners. Aw well. Cool event nonetheless.
I was sooooooooooooooooooooo heated after the losers match to Elias. Had to chill out for a bit by myself after that. I forgot what it’s like to be in a tournament hahah, it’s been a longtime that’s for sure. Fun times.
Just 2 inform u guys my Coworker Shalai was the person that ran the bracket, she usually does pretty well but @ the same time shes still learning how this all works, shout out 2 brent for teaching her how 2 do it the right way, instead of criticizing her, but yea wat happend was we had 3 people in winners(dont kno how that happened) and we ended up giving peeyk a late bye, witch was yea, a bad idea but the only reason he was rewarded was because hes won the tournament a few times and it was the only thing we can do @ that time.
so so that never happens again im gonna try 2 find better bracket templates and make sure that she is aware of how this works. so yes, it was a bad decision, and we will make sure it wont happen again, but all in all,i still think the top 4 made it because of skill, not because of lucky byes so lets just nip this in the butt now
