Yea…cos $15 really is breaking the bank. I might have to save up my tooth fairy money. Goddamn, the fgc is CHEAP . And by the way , NO ONE HAS TO PAY ANYTHING. You make that choice.
AE2012 is well balanced but by no means perfect. It’s hilarious that people claim its the most balanced the game has been. So narrow minded and most likely coming from people who main one of the top 10 characters. There are many characters that need a lot of help to compete with the top. The introduction of 4 or so new characters is hardly going to break the game. New stages, music and a handful of characters would be very cool imo. Oh no, I have to learn a few more matchups. One of the best things about fighting games is their depth and continuous learning. I don’t play at a tournament level ,like 95% of players, so I don’t get what all the negativity is about. I’m still highly competitive and work hard at the game. I welcome some new stuff . The best fighting game out there and I hope it continues to be the top tournament game.
There were further patches/updates to rectify those problems and the game was better for it. Sometimes mistakes are made and can be corrected. The name of the game is continuous improvement. Yun and Yang were purposely made op which was an error on Ono’s part. If new characters were added and this is a big update, do you think that a small balance patch 6 months down the line is completely out of the question? Would you rather be playing vanilla by yourself ?
Hey metallica are you mad that some people support the idea of a little bit of new variety? What exactly do you disagree with? I wonder what you guys were saying pre-ssf4 . From the perspective of an akuma main or cammy , you are obviously afraid bad things might come with this update. Deal with it. Good players adapt and move on.
"It’s hilarious that people claim its the most balanced the game has been"
Do I need to say more about why I would disagree with you?
"The introduction of 4 or so new characters is hardly going to break the game"
Yeah, vanilla AE didn’t happen according to your logic.
Also, get over yourself thinking anything a top tier mainer says about this game is only related to how it’ll affect their character, believe it or not, we look at the game as a whole too and I personally play many characters besides my main.
The game is balanced as shit. Once again: In EVO 2012 there were 25 different characters in the top 32.
4 characters won’t necessarily break the game, the problem is there are like 40 already so these characters will need to be different, and introducing new mechanics to the game is troublesome to balance. Karin and Rainbow Mika are both characters that are somewhat different from what is out there… it might be complex balancing them.
Broken characters make it fun, its not like Yun & Yang were not able to be beaten. I say bring new characters. The crybabies usually suck at the game anyway regardless of stats. If Karin is broken idgf , Ill learn how to use her & not cry about losing to her just put her in the game we need Karin. (and R mika)
Personally I think Karin would be a great addition, though her style is reminiscent of Makoto’s…
I just hope that it’s a character that is SOLID, meaning a couple of well-rounded characters instead of characters with weak points and broken mechanics ( glass cannons with a titanium lining, so to speak).
Maybe more important than being well rounded is that the new characters bring something fresh to the table, that there is a reason for people to use him/her.
I dunno. As much as I love Karin, I think the game has enough variety as is regarding character archetypes and I don’t think the game should be over-saturated with too many matchups. It was already pretty difficult to manage all that character specific/matchup info in Super, a bit harder after AE and I would not really be looking forward to it competition-wise if even more characters are thrown in. Save them for a brand new SF (and I don’t mean have 43+ characters in a new SF… please don’t do that).
Other changes I don’t think I’d mind as much (like some new stages and system changes), but if certain systems changes take place then that probably would mean a lot of learned setups will need to be unlearned in exchange for new setups.
I love it when people complain that a game is old and boring, then at the same time whine that adding any thing extra will make the game too hard and bothersome.
