Platinum* Games new game. Anarchy Reigns

TGS Trailer:

Pretty much just shows some more story stuff and alludes to factions and teams. Durga rides in on Garuda’s back which is pretty badass.

EDIT: Freakin’ finally figured out how to embed damned youtube videos. Freakin’ hell!

Steven Blum…sold.

I hope that isn’t sarcasm cuz I really like Steve Blum lol.

That’s how I feel about this game at the moment.
Game looks real nice, no doubt I’ll keep up to date and see what people gotta say on release (hell, might buy it day 1 myself).

Overall, the way the formula works for this game, it can be just as shitty.

ONLY TIME CAN TELL!!!

Ehh, I’ll at least purchase it for the story mode and co-op survival so me and my other friend who loves Platnium games can tear through the hordes online. Hopefully the all out player vs player ends up as deep and fun as they’re alluding to.

I’d purchase it eventually because it’s Platinum Games…and it’s Steven Blum.

I am totally sold on this game, if it was any other developer I would wait and see first, but this is a multiplayer beat em up, by platinum…

I haven’t even read much or even watched many videos, and I don’t really plan to…it’s platinum… and it’s a beat em up  I donno everything about the team and exactly who worked on what… but if this game is HALF as good as godhand was, this will be my favorite game of the year

Keits put up the TGS trailer up as part of a front page Anarchy Reigns article! He says he was pleasantly suprised at how fighter-like it is.

Happy a guy from SRK got a chance to try it out.

The wait for this is killing me. That trailer just makes things worse!

joining the hype on this one. i had fun with bayonetta and loved vanquish… and madworld was one of the games i would have bought a wii for (but never got the chance)

I am mad hype for this, Platinum Games have an excellent track record.
The soundtrack seem pretty good too.

I might have to find the Wii and pick up Mad World… and batteries.

this shit is a day 1 for me, if for no other reason than to suplex the fuck out of everyone. i need to play bayonetta still, i don’t know why i haven’t already done so (perhaps i have been saving it for a time such as this). perhaps after work i’ll get it dig into the combat system.

slightly off topic but has there been anything new revealed for sengoku basara utage? ideally, are they going to give people like me what they have been praying for since first getting into the game (putting hideyoshi in game)? played that game to plat via import, then continued playing for who knows how much longer just doing ill shit lol.

edit: whoops this is def not the TGS thread, my bust. disregard that off topic bit as i’ll put it into the appropriate thread.

Was this posted yet?

Is there like, tech rolls when you get knocked down? Kinda looked like it. Also seemed like there was some kind of anti-OTG move you can do to push the opponent away so they can’t curb stomp ya.

January can’t come soon enough. Maining Durga :stuck_out_tongue:

Have the QTEs even been enabled at events? Haven’t seen any apart from in the trailer. Only seen a crate item opened and used when the director was playing the game. Haven’t seen the character specific skills. Haven’t seen people brawl it out/escape on roofs like Zero & Baron did in a clip and we’ve only seen 3 modes.

I don’t think we’ve seen a lot. Oh and anybody notice Baron has “Fuck You” on his teeth?

One of the interviews confirmed battle royal which uses “last man standing” rules, as well as a cage match style 1-on-1. Fuck yes.

Played this at Euro Gamer yesterday. Me and my friends had it to ourselves since there was hardly anyone playing so we got a lot of good games in. This game is BEAST! Very chaotic and “wft is happening” at first but once you get used to it it’s solid. Although you can still get caught up in the madness.

I’ll be back later to post up what I learned.

Alright, I learned all this on the fly so it’s not 100% accurate.

Attacks

The attacks are split into four different tiers. If you attack at the same time as someone else with the same tier, you clash and the characters are pushed back. I don’t know if this works with every tier. You can string tiers together for variation.

Weak Attack - General string which combos up to up to 5 times, and probably more for different characters. Can be used in juggles and is good for interrupting slower attacks.

Strong Attack - Stronger and with less speed than weak attacks. Can be held down for charge attacks.

Weak Killer Weapon - If you hold L2 while pressing the weak attack button, you go into your weapon stance. It’s a pretty powerful string which is governed by a meter under your health bar that is divided into about 4 segments. The amount of meter you have determines how many attacks you can use in that string. If you start an attack without full meter, your character will perform the string up until the meter runs out.

Strong Killer Weapon - Same deal as WKW but it allows you to access your cinematic super if you have full meter. I could of sworn I did it at half meter as well but I’m not sure. It can also be charged for a different attack. For instance; in Durga’s super he does multiple gushot kicks in your chest, and in his charged SKW you take take aim with his leg and shoot peeps.

Throws - There’s four types of throws; regular throw, back throw, ground throw, and double throw. All throws can be teched by pressing throw at the same time as someone else or just as it starts up. I don’t know if ground throws can be teched though. The big characters like Garuda and Big Bull can throw two characters at once with their double throw.

360 Attack - This is the Shoryuken of this game; pressing weak attack and jump at the same time causes your character to do a high priority move which knocks down or knocks back everyone that’s right next to you. You can do this move while in hit stun as long as you’re standing and there’s no limit to how many times you can attempt one.

The downsides are that it does no damage, locks you in place until the animation finishes, and can be beaten by SSAs if timed correctly. Zero’s 360 attack is cheap as fuck. He teleports into the air and throws shurikens which knock you straight down, and it’s hard to punish since he’s in the air.

States

Guarding - You guard with R2. Your guard can be broken with stronger attacks and items (I think).

Knocked down - When knocked down you can roll in any direction you want, stand in place or perform a get up attack. If knocked through the air you can tech roll by pressing jump as soon as you hit the ground. You can also be thrown if you are on the ground.

**Jumping/Rolling **- You can attack while airbourne and shit, although it’s more limited than ground combos. You roll by pressing jump and any direction while guarding, but the amount of rolls you can use in sequence is limited like in Bayonetta. It’s good for escaping strings which have delays and making people whiff shit.

Dizzy/Frozen/Paralysis - If your guard is broken or you are interruped during the start up of one of the stronger attacks, you get stunned and have to mash out. If you are hit with something that freezes or electrifies you, you have to mash out. I think you can sustain fire damage from explosions as well.

**Beserk Mode **- There’s a symbol next to your item boxes that fills up as you get kills or deal damage. I’m not sure if it still goes up if you are hit but it seems so. When someone on the field activates rage mode RUN THE FUCK AWAY. They are invincible and can do a barrage of attacks which rape your guard and your life. If you come across someone who has rage mode and you attack each other, you go into a DBZ style “HUR HUR HUR HUR” fight and have to mash the corresponding buttons to win the deadlock (Think Dynasty Warriors). If you lose the deadlock, your rage mode deactivates (not 100% sure on this).

Part 2

I’m making up the names for some of this shit because I don’t know lol.

Items

**Default Items - **There’s throwable stuff already on the stage that you can use to throw or melee people with. In the stage we played there’s a car, forklift and nitrogen tank which freezes people on contact.

Care Package - During the round two boxes containing special items are dropped into the field. You can carry two items in the slots provided which you can use whenever you want, but if you die, you drop them and they can be taken by someone else. The following weapons can be found in the care package:

Bomb: A bomb that explodes on contact. You get 2 from the pickup.

Electric Field: A throwable device that electrifies anyone in the blast radius. You get 2 from the pickup.

.50 Cal:Rifle with 5 shots

Bubble Shield: A green shield that defends you without you having to guard. Shatters after taking too much damage.

Stealth Mode: Your character turns transparent.

SATELLITE LASER: This weapon is SICK! You taget someone with a remote and after a short while 4 red beams surround your target letting them know they’re about to be fucked, and a fat laser blows their ass up. Anyone caught in the radius dies.

That’s all I know, also this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbKP35tO2Fw&feature=mh_lolz&list=HL1316789031

I enjoy your general information, but between you and your friends is there any character specific information that you can give us?
