Consider how Zero gets in then think about Bayonetta. Zero’s dash attack is THE BEST IN THE GAME. It’s quick, hard to punish, combos and adds great shield pressure. Bayonetta doesn’t have that but the startup on her dash attack is pretty quick. With and without tech, Zero’s buttons are better than Bayo’s. I’ll admit his kw weak attacks suck but his kw heavy’s? Cutscenes don’t succumb to scaling so he’s got damaging shit. His loops are easier too.
Durga’s better too! He’s got press buttons, get stun, 70% combo, wall infinites, COMBO KW WEAK x3 INTO HIS LEAN.
Better than Leo’s, Gargoyle’s, and Garuda’s that can also be combo’d off of? Better than Big Bull’s and Max’s that have massive guard damage as well?
By the way, using Leo exclusively for the glitch is pretty bad. Leo has an infinte loop that is a lot easier to do and kills more reliably.
Anarchy goes through dry spouts like this. There are always newbies that come and go, and then the hardcore crowd that stays is on regular. I’ve been playing for 8 months. I’ve seen this happen, anarchy will never die completely until the servers get shut down. It’s pretty much cult status.
Also, for those complaining. Read the FAQ, learn that bayo can fuck you up off jabs. It’s not hard. Almost every character can do as much as Bayonetta now off jabs with the techniques. This is the first, and most important fucking point I am going to make. The average player isn’t going to learn these–but if you cared about the game as much as you are showing then you would have accepted everything and moved past it. It’s a legitimate part of the game.
Bayos glitch is not among the top worst things in this game. Want my opinion? (as one of the most respected members of the community, the person who wrote the FAQ, and someone who cares deeply for the game itself) I will give you a bunch of things worse than that glitch.

Double zero HKW is the single handed worst thing in the fucking game. It doesn’t matter that it requires 4 meter. A pole, is a guaranteed death. It’s not hard to jab a few times and build your meter and then trap someone. Once it gets you, unless someone physically stops the zero or you practically live next door to your attacker. You aren’t getting out of it. Even if a bayo poles you, it does not guarantee your death.

Lag Baron OHKO easily follows suit. Next game breaking thing compliments both these annoyances whole heartedly.

Invisible tires. I have no idea what causes this to happen, but it’s stupid as shit and almost always guarantees you are dead no matter the level / situation.

Basic lag issues like falling out of combos, wonky stun mechanics, blatant roster balance issues without cancel techniques.

Damage nerfs for peoples cinematic cutscenes (Nikolai, Rin Rin,), damage BOOSTS from lag on certain cutscenes and lag causing certain dive attacks to hit twice. (Baron, Fei, Sashas aHKW cinematic)
These are all basic mechanic or lag related issues. More than one character can do the HKW glitch. Nikolai, Mathilda, Jack, Big Bull, Garuda, Leo, Sasha, Zero, and Bayonetta. More characters have to whiff their light to get their heavy to get active frames for some reason, but they still exist and can still be useful if you know how to use it.
Now, about the glitch itself. Yes, it’s huge damage. Is it a press button to win like Zero or Baron is though? Nope. I used to be against the glitch, I moved on, accepted the game. It is what it is. If you can’t do that, I highly fucking suggest you guys move on because no one wants to hear more bitching about this shit. I mean seriously. Are we back in January / February or something? Do you guys even still play? Have you EVER PLAYED a good Zero? Like a legitimately good zero. Not your average zero in any given lobby derp’ing about.
Neon and Aldalome are hands down the best Zeros on PSN and they recently learned cancels. They are 100x more broken than a simple aHKW doing massive damage. Zero can 100% combo with ease even without double HKW and they can convert if from a shift heavy. Are you serious right now?
Despite what you seem to think, Zero is the best character in the game played at a high level. You thinking otherwise makes me think you’ve never even played a decent Zero who knew what he was doing.

TLDR
Zero > Everyone else, anyone complaining about Bayonetta at this point has not played a good Durga or Zero.

Please don’t act condescending towards me as if I don’t know how to play. I started playing on the original Japanese multiplayer demo back in 2011. I’ve already seen all the techniques and strategies for all the characters and maps. I’ve discussed this game to hell and back with friends and other players on the Anarchy Reigns general threads on 4chan’s /vg/. The general consensus has always been that Bayonetta is the top tier or close to it, along with the Rins, and Douglas. Then close to them are Durga, Gargoyle/Garuda, Zero and Max.
And when I said the glitch was one of the worst things in the game, I wasn’t exclusively refering to Bayonetta, but the glitch as a whole. Along with every other character that can use it. It’s fucking broken, getting a hkw for no fucking meter and able to convert any random air kww into massive damage.
I’ve played against both Neon and Adalome and yeah, they have good Zeros. But that’s because they are actually good players.
Hi. I don’t really have much to add to the discussion, but I just wanted to personally say that more than anything, it’s the personal grudges and the P2P connectivity that really kill the experience for me, not necessarily the characters themselves. It doesn’t really matter what game it is. There will be characters that are better than other characters. It’s mainly up to the player of the game to make use of the tools he/she has and know what to expect. Even if you think there’s nothing that you can do about Bayonetta, Zero, or whoever, there is, and if you aren’t patient enough to learn how to deal with it, then just take a break from this game and go play/do something else.
I’m not gonna lie, Anarchy has made me pretty salty sometimes (a lot of people in this thread know that all too well), but ultimately, I know that this is a video game, and it’s nothing to get too serious about or start hating people over. It’s meant for entertainment purposes and nothing more. If you’re not enjoying yourself, don’t force yourself to do something you don’t like. That’s all I really have to say. Thanks for reading.

And okay, I think I’ll explain in detail why I think Bayonetta is so good. The damage is tested on Jack.
>Normals
Bayonetta’s normals are nothing to write home about. Her combos seem to be leftovers from the other female characters in the game, but she has the addition of some of her moves getting extended range due to her guns. Her combo enders are also pretty good at breaking guard, especially her WWHH, WWWH, and WHH (which also has the added ability of putting her at a safe distance) strings. She also has the ability to jump cancel her first W, or jab.
Her guard break move isn’t very special, and her dashing attack is garbage that leaves her very open and doesn’t track too well. Her launcher, anti-air, and falling attacks are pretty standard, and her jumping W has weird extended range because of the guns.
>Killer Weapon
Bayonetta’s KWW string does little over 50% damage, and this is pretty standard. The moves do seem to have some delay between hits, so it’s possible someone can interrupt with a jab and she’ll become stunned. Doesn’t to her as often as say, Big Bull. Her standing KWH is one of the best in the game, if not the best, hands down. The startup is just as fast as Zero’s, if not faster. The damage it does is just as good as Baron’s (in non-lag situations ;-D). It can be combo’d into extremely easily, more on that later. And it’s got good range to trigger the animation and even better range for just flat out damage. Her air KWW is okay. Mash it twice and get ~30% damage. Her air KWH does about the same damage as mashing her KWW twice, but it also causes a hard knockdown status, which is very important if you’re playing a team mode, and even more inportant if you’re glitching. The area of effect on it is pretty good too, letting you hit multiple people clustered together. Her charged KWH is sort of like Sasha’s, but it has an additional attack that pops the opponent into the air if you hit with it. This does little under 50% damage.
>360, Health, Dodge, and Guard
Bayonetta’s 360 is decent. It’s fairly highly telegraphed though, as she has a lot of startup animation before it actually knocks you back, so it’s easy to read/bait out. Her dodge is good. It moves a good distance and is fast. Her health is average. She has the standard medium character (Jack basically) health pool. Her guard is weak. It breaks pretty easily, meaning she’s not the best at defense.
>Combos, Tactics, Strategies
Bayo’s combos are easy and strong. She can’t combo off of her dashing attack, but it’s all good. Her guns allow her to extend certain combos that would otherwise push the opponent too far away. Here are her main BnBs.
Key: W = Weak, H = Heavy, j.W = jumping Weak, j.H = Anti-air Heavy (while rising), (W) = Killer weapon weak, (H) = Killer weapon heavy. (*) indicates a delay, (>) indicates a link.

The general strategy with Bayo in 1vs 1 situations is to either use her safe normal strings to try to crack open your opponent if they are blocking, or try and bait a 360 to do any of your BnBs. Because of the way the infinite works, you can do a few loops of it before going for either )=KWH on the ground after WWH, or finish them in the air with two KWWs or a KWH. It also builds you meter in no time so you should have no excuse not to finish with your killer weapon, unless more opponents show up. When in a group, Bayos should stay back from the front lines and try to throw random KWHs. This will do loads of damage and also potentially safe your teammates from gettting combo’d. At level 3, Bayonetta’s element is poison. This means that if she does a full KWW string or hits with her KWH without the animation, the opponent will be in a poisoned state, take damage over time, and not be able to do anything but move around. Good abilities to use with Bayonetta would be guard master, evade master, and power leveler, but you can use whatever you want.
Bayonetta is also one of the characters that can do the HKW glitch, and it’s extremely good with her.
Overall, she’s an extremely good character with a few tools, easy combos, and great damage. I personally believe she is in the top tier of AR.
