Planning on playing on Live. Need some advice

Hi, I just bought and XBox and I’m planning on playing online because there are no arcades around where I live. Can you guys answer some of my questions?

  1. Which XBox Live kit should I purchase first? The start-up kit or the one with a 1 year subscription? Like, what are the differences between the two and is the start-up kit a necessity?

  2. In CvS2, are there servers, or is it just a lobby and random people challenge you? If there are servers, can you pick the location of it (i.e West Coast, etc.) or can you check the location of the player?

  3. In your opinion, will playing online bring your skills up to a “tournament level”? Or, in your opinion, is the XBox controller comfortable for fighting games?

  1. probably not tournament level but you will improve. if it wasnt for live i wouldnt have gone past scrub mode.

the xbox pad in my opinion is awesome, most would probably prefer the ps pad (not sure why) but i think the xbox pad is great. eventually you will want an arcade stick, sticks beat out pads.

Alright, thanks for the info guys. One more question, is the lag in SvC and CvS2 on the same level?

i dont have svc yet but apparently its worse than cvs2 but better than reload. so im betting the lag in cvs2 is better.
