Planet Zero SBO qualifiers are Rigged

Lol, he’s making it sound like going to SBO is a punishment instead of a reward.

it was mentioned in one of the posts from Ranma on mashharder…

  • forking over 30k for 10 players ain’t cheap - to go to Japan and last for a few minutes in SBO and then find that there were problems caused by said players…anyone bitching about that?

  • everyone’s now curious as to what problems were actually caused…we’ve only heard rumors and heresay.

do you all say we should boycott altogether even going to Showdown Championships etc? Should we have a petition or some shit so that his money gets drained from the competition not being present? I am all for Fubar getting that arcade…

Showdown Championships will always have attendees; make that clear. Boycott or no boycott.

In fact, they had a healthy turnout this year, in spite of scheduling conflicts with FRXI.

If you hadn’t noticed, the Showdown tournaments have progressively become less American in presentation and format, and more of an event.

…but wait, you don’t go.

Well yeah he’ll make that $ from the Anime con etc, but we can still cut into his check not giving him OUR support.

But that’s the problem, it won’t pan out in Zinac’s favor. He had the least amount of wins and now he’s getting jacked? Come on, that’s like taking a baseball team ready for the World Series and benching a good player(has a shitty Division and League Championship Series) for having the lowest batting average.

…do you want to see the team just get messed up in 5 minutes, and go home? that’s an expensive 5-10 minutes of team play…

…they’re also trying to find the best players, right? if Zinac isn’t among the best, then it’d be logical to choose someone who is better than him, correct?

besides, it was stated in the Showdown rules that winning Showdown was just one of the many things considered to be picked…you can’t assume that you’d get picked, like as if you were entitled to the spot(s) for winning the SC team tourny.

I agree…breaking the rules is breaking the rules…doesnt matter how you wanna slice it…You cant sit here and tell me theres an excuse for breaking the rules…

Just doesnt fly…this is an area that isn’t up for debate…

THEY DID NOT. omg. you don’t read, do you?

http://www.mashharder.com/forums/showpost.php?p=68655&postcount=13

does that have any clarification for you, or do you want another clear-cut message from the SBO guys?!~

Except, Zinac is human. We can’t win EVERY day. People can turn it around and there’s still about two months until SBO. That qualifier was just a bad day for Zinac.

personally, Emogear reminds me of an owner looking to win. but i guess he’s in the wrong for wanting the best possible team that will do well, right? If Zinac didn’t produce that day, then it really looked bad on his chances on getting picked, right?

i’m not siding with either side, but i can see both points of view.

Wow I was gone from the forums for one day and this thread blew up. Wow it got a sticky too.:looney:

-DJ-

I want the team who won the qualifiers go to SBO, as per SBO rules.

He had the opportunity to put together the best possible team- before the tournament. Another team won.

read the link a few posts above. the SBO guys made an exception for foreign countries. in this case, they gave Emogear the power to choose players. Showdown Championships was a strong piece in a player’s “resume” to be picked, but not the only one, as stated in the Showdown Championship rules.

I don’t think anyone reads anymore…lol.

Couldnt agree any more with you… You cant change the rules to fit your scheme…

OMG READ THE DAMN LINK! An SBO guy replied to Emogear about the exceptions!:wasted:

…now you’re just being stubborn, besides being ignorant.

I’ve already read that. Emotiongear has zero, zip, nada, credibility.

John Choi spoke to the same person at SBO, who said what went down in Texas is against SBO policy.

If you’re asking me to take the word of emotiongear over Choi, you’re nuts.

Thank you…I dont have to respond to any of his posts calling me stubborn or ignorant when he is the MINORITY in this thread that thinks the way he does!!

You couldn’t trust Emo with a dollar bill…

you mean to say he doesn’t have a lot of credibility with a good chunk of the United States, but you neglect to mention that he’s prospering just fine, since he primarily caters to Houston locals. PZ is the only thing we have left in Texas that resembles an arcade that has the latest games…the fact that he buys these expensive-ass arcade machines to cater to his clientelle gives him some inkling of credibility for support. you can hate the guy all you want, but he’s successful with PZ. I don’t mind compromising a bit of myself to be the first to play SFIV or KOF12 or whatever the new fad is at the time, since PZ will probably have it first.

I am seeing both sides, thank you. I’m not siding with anyone, as previously stated.

Just make sure you don’t rear you ugly bald head to PZ when KOF12 hits if you hate Emogear so much! :stuck_out_tongue:
Last time you were there, you wouldn’t even dare touch KOFXI, but just watch!

this is getting rediculous
