SBO organizers probably don’t want whatever crappy players Emotiongear arbitrarily decides to send in their finals. SBO players certainly don’t want random players taking their spots at the finals. So let them know.
Well if the other two members of the team refused, I don’t know if Emotiongear would be above replacing both of them.
What should happen, is to be fair to the team, whoever the replacement is, should refuse to take a spot he didn’t earn.
Emotiongear could probably do whatever he wants as long as SBO staff does not know. I’m sure he’s thinking “what they don’t know won’t hurt them” at this point. He’s claimed that they’re aware of how he’s running things, but given his track record, I’m not sure how anyone can believe that.
If it ends up being Kensou, he’s going to take it. Like I said, he’s been at the head of the Emotiongear fan club.
And if Jais & Raekwon protested and refused to go, I have no doubt that they would just be replaced with the 2nd place team. Kensou/Jan/fubarduck, all TX players.

No…Shin Kensou… the guy that pretty much only plays with Chipp in GG and has been doing it for a while…even played KOFXI back in the day…he’s a cool cat overall…

And yeah, he singlehandedly ruined Texas Showdown. Made it a sideshow in his anime con (which people hated as well apparently) and refused to pay winners.
That pisses me off, I been to the old showdown and they were badass.

If you want to stick it to him for this, someone call the city/state and say you found violations at his arcade. Maybe it’s not up to fire code, or there were health code violations at his snack bar. Or even better, say one of this PZ “models” offered to have sex with you in a back room for money. It’s actually pretty easy to make someone’s life a living hell, as long as you plan it right and cover your tracks. Of course, I don’t CONDONE this type of action, and I myself have never done anything of the sort before 
BTW, there won’t be any grounds to sue as there was no written contract anywhere stating that winners of the event would be given spots. The best bet is to pursue this with the Japanese SBO staff/organizers. If you are serious about it, talk to John Choi, he can point you in the right direction.
I have to agree with Wizard, this guy has proven he’s crooked pretty much ever since he emerged on the Texas scene. Even if you are the most hardcore of Guilty Gear player, I can’t imagine you would put the time, money and effort into going to his SBO quals. They are a sham and that’s that. Let him send his scrubs to Japan every year to get trounced into the fucking ground - that will REALLY make PZ look good!
That is really fucked up, when I went to PZ all of the staff seemed pretty nice, this guy needs to be taught a lesson some how.
You won the SBO qualifier at Planet Zero so you go to SBO representing Planet Zero. That’s how it works.
You become a representative of the arcade you qualify at. If they want to send a local player to watch you guys play or something. As stupid as that is, they can do that but they can’t mess with the qualifying team member list.
