A++++++
Will read again
Very well said. PZ just continues hurting the scene more and more.
It’s too bad everything worked out as badly as feared. I hope that Zinac retains his spot and everyone learns their lesson about trusting PZ with qualifiers (again…)
marn my heart is with u <3:lovin:
Thought I’d post what Emotiongear thinks about this situation. (taken from mashharder.com forums) Remember, this dude is still banned from SRK by Mr.Wizard.
Note: I do NOT endorse nor support anything associated with this guy whatsoever; this dude has fucked over players not once, not twice, but repeatedly, and that’s a big no-no in this community.
sits down and watches
I don’t know how that aim conversation was to be taken serious at all. =[… Hell, when has anyone ever taken me seriously? I love how EVERYONE takes me as a joke and when the most RIDICULOUS thing I say comes up and has something to do with someone, it’s taken out of proportion. Are you serious? Even if it was even a little serious, I would not have named random players to get THEM in trouble in any way. What was the point of the conversation? To troll you and to amuse some of my friends. I stayed with my teammates 90% in Japan even before I knew all that emailing shit happened. And the other 10% I was with Fubarduck/Arturo. But then again, I guess everything said on the internets has to be taken seriously. Like EVERYTHING. Nothing can be a joke anymore. Cause we all know I act like the way I do on the internet like I do in real life right. Good thing what I do in real life is 90% different from what I say / do on the internet. Even looking back on that conversation and my posts, I was like, WTF? I really said that? I don’t even want to look through the whole conversation cause I know I said it, I just don’t remember why or what made me say it. I’m sure if you mofos who posted back in 2005 like I did would go back to your posts back then, you’d look at it and be like, “Uh… I didn’t say that.”
Edpachi, nice life as a troll right? Why don’t you go off and live your life instead of going and trying to be the Collector of Marn’s rumors? I guess you go off on what other people say instead of facts.
You guys really act like I don’t treat people like they treat me. 80% of the people on SRK treat me like shit, and they’re shit themselves who don’t go on with life. The 20% of people who are actually people who have lives other than SRK and actually talk to me like a normal person. You guys look at random posts and think WOW THIS GUY IS REALLY SERIOUS! And take it to a whole different level. I’m glad my attention whoring gives me the attention I want from everyone. I didn’t expect it to be this big, but apparently I’m on everyone’s minds so I must be doing something right. I have NEVER shitted on anyone before they either shitted on a person I know, or they shitted on me.
If any of you guys take my posts seriously outside of this post, then you guys are all fucking morons and deserve to fucking die.
For all the people who are bitching about EmotionGear, you guys are morons. It was stated before the tournament that it was NOT tournament for a qualifier. It was simply a tournament. Thinking you guys deserve that spot is absolutely hilarious. Me? If I were to be given that spot instead of Zinac? Hell yeah, I’d take that spot instantly. I wouldn’t give a shit what people said. Because like EmotionGear, I think forums are a joke. Why should you ever take anything anyone says seriously? 98% of posters are dumb and trolls, including myself. Trolling people makes you cool because apparently Edpachi is cool. Emotiongear is a nice and reasonable guy but why would he take Zinac now after Zinac’s gone off and made this whole big deal about everything? I woulda kept my mouth shut until something OFFICIAL was announced and MAYBE I would have gone off and ran my mouth.
I knew from the beginning of the post that this was trap… It was stated as a trap by 12903810 Dustloop members, and yet people still decided to go. That’s their own fault.
Emotiongear’s train of thought is far far more than what you guys think of him.
I’m not on his side nor your guys side. I’m just saying if I had the chance to go, I’d start packing. People called me the weak link on my EVO team… Well, Zinac is the weak link on their team. I didn’t deserve the money I got, but he didn’t do shit either so… Meh.

GOO!!
I’m going to WoW and I expect at least 10 posts quoting my post when I get back.
BULLSHIT MARN! The whole point to this entire thread is because emotiongear bumpped off a member of the winning team and that ain’t right.
We’re arguing about lame biased qualifiers and having REAL TOURNAMENTS for SBO SPOTS. This is a FIGHT FOR THE FUTURE, STREET FIGHTER 5 BITCHES.
It’s because of his previous track run. The dates looked suspicious. Might as well risk covering your ass, and letting people know what’s up then just sit and let it slip through your hands. This doesn’t count as your 10 post quota.
Oh yeah and the joking thing, always assume people take you seriously.
It’s actually real simple. Either you’re mad enough to stop supporting emogear and his tournies or you’re not.
If a lot of people stop supporting him then this actually means something, if not then he could give a shit less, and rightfully so.
Personally, I’m not gonna give him shit. I heard bad things about PZ before, but I was going to give it a chance regardless. Now though this whole thing just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, especially after all the insults being lobbed at the posters and zinac for simply bringing up a valid point.
You can only get away with treating people like shit for so long, eventually it catches up to ya.
Peace,
Jin
Edit:
Oh and emo gear is full of shit. He’s trying to reflect the blame off to everyone but himself. He’s the one who didn’t make it clear that a PZ rep would be going no matter what. The way it’s written suggests that if you win you get to go unless you’re a trouble maker (hence the interview), at least that’s the way me and a lot of people understood it. Emogear likes to act like we’re the ones destroying the community when his inability to be upfront about his intentions is what led to this problem in the first place.
It was made abundantly clear by the people under him that Zinac would be “100% not going.” So I’d say that was official enough. BTW, does anyone else get a “Uwe Boll” type vibe from emogear? I’m just really reminded of how Uwe went on a rant on how people should thank him for making video game movies because no one else would and that we should support them regardless of how shitty they are or else no one will make new ones.
Well no one wants a shitty movie being made out of their favorite video games and no one wants a shitty tournament were the winners feel scammed. Again, just be up front. There’s no need to lie. If it was clearly said a PZ representative would replace the guy with the lowest wins Zinac would have had no reason to complain, but that wasn’t the case. Your rules didn’t make that clear and SBO’s rules made the current scenario even more unlikely. The problem is a lack of honesty and people don’t do business with people they can’t trust. Just remember that.

I was bored, but maybe this will change something.
TGA quals next year is possible.
Even tho EVO shouldn’t have tried to fix what wasn’t broken. I can see that they were only trying to make SBO quals better but the sponsorship backfired and had the EC stripped of their quals. I can understand that things like that happen sometimes but i don’t see how that is destroying the community.
As for all the other Emogear crap, i still trying to figure out how what hes going is going to fix anything. Its a buncha bs.
nc john > pz john
I still haven’t gotten a good answer to this, maybe Choi can answer this:
What it 4 people went to SBO claiming to be the team, I assume that they’d take the 3 “real” winners then. This is why I suggested we as the community made sure the right people went.
$1500 is too much for one person, but split around 100-200, it wouldn’t be so bad. (Don’t know the exact needed costs)
Can someone let me know if this idea is viable, or if it would work? Choi would be the best person, since he knows the SBO people.
you guys ever heard the expression “jumping to conclusions”?
i dont think anyone is arguing that. Hell i wouldnt be suprised if Marn agrees with you. I know i do. That really aint right… But sadly I did not put in the time and effort and money into making the qualifier happen. Someone else did. And telling somone else how they should run their own tournament generlay doesnt work too well.
I know i would hate for someone to come in and tell me how i should run my buisness after i was the one to do all the work.
Everyones entitled to their opnion of course. If you really dont like it then definitly stop supporting him as higher jin suggested. Everyone here should stop comming to PZ until he changes his ways.
Evo has nothing to do with SBO qualifier spots. End of story. I wish people would stop saying we are involved.
We havent been involved since the first one held in Anaheim, CA.
and now jais of course is white knighting the whole process and throwing his teammate under the bus
fucking dope
also is it just me or does marn like ALWAYS do something to hurt gg community’s credibility? i mean, ideally he would be right and internet persona would not matter, but sadly it does so his whole douchebag gimmick bites him in the ass
That is basically my fault and I apologize for any problems caused to Andy/TGA/EC SBO hopefuls. Wizard/EVO was not the cause of that.
Last year was very hectic with 4 EVO quals and 4 SBO quals all happening at different venues and dates. It was difficult for players to choose among the 8 separate events. Since the core audience is similar for both events, I thought it would be beneficial for all if the events were combined. This should increase player attendance, require less travel, and hopefully have a better talent pool of US players to compete and represent at SBO.
With preliminary blessing from EVO staff to piggy back the EVO events, I talked to Andy and secured control of the EC qualifier thinking it could later be run at EVO East. Note that during this time, sponsorship talks were in process and not guaranteed yet. However, things did not turn out according to plan as due to various reasons, EVO was not able to lock down sponsorship this year. So, fast forward to months later and to salvage the situation, the EC qual event is actually taking place at MWC. Fortunately, MWC contains arcade cabinets of the SBO games which is a requirement for the qualifier. Thanks to Jason Wilson for agreeing to host it this year.
For next year, I will only push for this joint venture if the sponsorship is guaranteed at that time. If not then you will probably see Andy/TGA host it again.
