A couple of questions here.
First of all, if my main controller has independent uncoded wires, then they should remain uncoded until they run into a PCB Pad hack. I was thinking to make easy conversion between multiple PCBs, I was thinking of a DB35 because 25 is too few for a PS1/2 PCB, if the analog directions and the L3/R3 is included is 25 pins before adding the ground and “other function” that are used in some PBCs wire.
The guy who will do my job needs solderable 35 pin males and females on one end and whatever you use to solder in on the other (shows how much of a noob with a soldering gun I am ;)). Can someone recommend one or more places for a good quality, small/light to ship, and cheap price for solderable pins on one end and DB35 pin on the other end in both male and female ends. My repairman will supply the wires. He just needs the heads. And also is it customary, to correspond, to horizontally flip the corresponding male and female connections.
Also, if the joystick is vertically symmetric, and you invert it 180 degrees to turn a traditional left-hand joystick into a right, can you, within the joystick wrong mechanism, y-split the wires, and have them go in 2 different DB35s, have one wired for left handed and one wired for right handed, and if only one of the 2 are actively plugged in, be electrically the same as a single DB35 output? If so, left on left handed mode would be mapped in the right pin on the right handed mode. I noticed that with video signals that My DVR wouldn’t work with split outputs, because there’s not enough power from the signal, but if I unplug the other source there’s enough power to go through, even though it’s still y connected, just one end is a null end.
Finally if I use a telephone operator switchboard to reprogram buttons, would an RCA be enough because one wire is a single signal and doesn’t get combined with the Ground until it’s unified with the PCB at one end and with the physical input on the other, but separated in between, and if the ground is its own pin, then is it okay to use RCAs because only one signal is sent? If so, I prefer RCAs over 3.5 mm because they’re cheaper, more plentiful, easier to insert and remove, and don’t have “lineup issues” which is probably my problem with the KY Enterprises custom stick I ordered in the 90s.
