The problem is is that sometimes we have animals owning animals. Some people should have to have a license to own powerfully built dogs. Pincers, bullies, rotweillers, german shepherds, great danes etc. You don’t nurture an animal in captivity it could eat someone. All pets are held in captivity. We domesticate them and condition to grow comfortable with it. The fact is as that there powerful, you can equally anger a small dog and a large dog but the larger dog will bite harder. That doesn’t mean the large dog is cruel by nature. If you have small children then don’t own one but this whole do a way with an entire species of dog is absurd. You should consider owning small animals and be done with it. These threads always turn into a argument between people who know little but claim to know a lot and people who are actually experienced with the breed in question.
My roomates owned a pit and it was timid around cats practically scared and curious. It would get so excited around people it would sometimes urinate on itself whereas almost every other dog I’ve been around assumes someone is an intruder and begins to bark. Wouldn’t hurt a fly. They are known to be bad guard dogs becuase they are not agressive towards people.
Incredibly smart dog too. Sorry if I’m unwilling to categorize an entire breed of dogs as monsters. I mean what do I know, I just took care of one for close to 2 years. But I guess the guy that has never owned one and golden retriever owner here is the expert. Go figure.
