Well, this sucks. It’s with great sadness that I report that the PG arcade is no more. I just finished loading the vast majority of it into a huge truck, and the rest will be gone within days and is shut down effective immediately.

I don’t want to go into all the reasons until the split is finalized, and possibly not even then, but I will say that you guys have been incredibly awesome and that your scene embraced the arcade in exactly the way I was hoping for when I started this thing up. It’s not ending because of lack of interest/revenue or because “arcades are dead” or any of that. It’s ALL about shitty disputes with the owner and feeling like I’ve been dicked over in a hundred ways over an extended period. Some of it had to do with me being unsatisfied with the hours, which they had always promised me would be extended. I know a lot of you guys hated the hours and the parking situation too, so hopefully you’ll get where I’m coming from. I never intended to run an arcade that closes at 8. I don’t think I’ve ever even been to an arcade before 8!

I’ll definitely be looking to re-emerge somewhere in the near future, so I’ll keep you guys posted. I’m not selling any of the candy cabs right now. If anyone has any leads as far as locations run by cool people who truly love and want to embrace arcade culture, please let me know! I’m picky but I think I might be able to find some like-minded people out there. If not, I’ll probably end up starting my own place eventually.

Bobby, you should keep us up to date on facebook or SRK. We all want to support an upstanding guy such as yourself. I knew from YEARS back that PG were a horribly run business, but I was willing to support Super Turbo arcade vers. wherever.

I’m hoping you can find another venue soon… THIS SUCKS!!!

That really sucks. Thank you bobby for being so open and letting us do stuff like install our own boards. I made it an effort to go every weekend and play for hours on end on saturdays. I hope a future venue can be found.

Yeah, this really sucks for all of us. I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this, but unfortunately our management never really saw eye-to-eye with Bobby or the arcade so it was only a matter of time. I’m sad to see the arcade go, but in the long run this’ll be for the best if Bobby can find a situation that’s more agreeable.

The store’s certainly a lot more quiet with the arcade gone. Working here’s not going to be the same

man that’s terrible, but if things weren’t working out it’s good to get out sooner rather than later. it can only get better from here, can’t wait for the reopening!

lol, I want to make a witty comeback, but I’m so tired from explaining to people every 5 minutes about why the arcade vanished that I don’t have the energy to think of anything. BUT WITS WILL RETURN IN THE MORNING (after which they will be stolen again by finals…)
