Monday-Thursday 12pm-8pm
Friday-Saturday 12pm-9pm
Sunday 12pm-7pm
I’d be down. I know I’m terrible at all fighting games outside of SF4 but I’d be more than willing to learn some ST. Plus food in the Udist is very good and cheap.
Where’s a good place to park?
Best parking before 6 would be University Bookstore only if you’re planning on staying for less than 2 hours (since U Bookstore will validate parking up to 2 hours, even if you didn’t buy anything). After 6, just find somewhere on the Ave to park.
I’m down.
They have a Robotron 2084 cab too!!
so is CvS2 working right now or not?
CVS2 is gone because (big surpise) nobody played it.
Pablo, zass and myself plan to make a cameo this Saturday starting at around 2:30PM. See you folks there.
To bobbyconover. Several of us own arcade boards and cabs. If this grew into a regular congregation with a large enough crowd, would you be open to us converting more cabs over to ST/MvC2 for the duration of the meetings? We would not ask for any portion of the money earned, of course.
For now, let’s see how many show up on Saturday.
Damn this sounds awesome guys, glad there is some love for SF2! I’ll try to make it down to one of these if i have time! You guys w/ cabs should also do some gatherings again, lets revive SF2 in the NW!
Gameclucks has had this date for a couple weeks, Friday? Sunday? Saturday evening? I’d like to attend both gameclucks and witness some intense old school games in an arcade atmosphere :wasted:
Don’t it. If we make this a regular thing, you’ll have plenty of chances to see me curse in a wide array of languages.
??fuck to the fullest. Might try to make it out on Fridays, but I always say that and never follow through…
whats all this!
Depending on which cabs are available (and kick harnesses and such), sure! We’ve had two Shmup-based gatherings so far and had 6 or 7 cabs set up for those, so it would make sense to do something similar for fighters if the demand is there. I’m pretty excited about the possibilities already.
As for CVS2, it is not fully gone – the PCB was pulled mostly because the GD-ROM had started to die, though the poor earnings weren’t exactly encouraging either. No matter what ultimately happens with the showcase cabinet it was in (it’s in the back room right now) I will be keeping the PCB and hopefully repairing the GD-ROM, so it could be brought back out at any time in a Candy cab or elsewhere if the demand is there for it. I have to admit that the Happ controls and weird 45-degree angle slants of the joysticks and buttons might have negatively affected it, so I don’t want to fully count it out just yet if it might do OK in a proper cab. We’re hoping to expand to some extra space in the back in the semi-near future and when that happens there’s a good chance the old Showcase cab will be back in use again in some capacity as well. Same goes for Robotron 2084, which is also in the back room right now.
Come see me dawg. And by come see me, I mean come hit me with crouching attacks so I can’t get in with gief.
EDIT
Bobby,
Don’t sweat it too much. So long as we got ST on a candy cab and Marvel on American cab we are straight. Those two games are legendary. Any random off the street will recognize these games so that is good. I am pretty hyped to check this ish out saturday. That nig DopeBoy Fresh has praised the set up tremendously.
Come see me dawg. And by come see me, I mean shake out of your dirt weed induced stupor and answer your fucking phone.
i just came from the u district and saw the location. ill probably be down to do this. and memos is fucking bomb. 2 chorizo tortas for my first time there.
Sarducci’s opened a shop 2 blocks south of PG earlier this year. Samurai Noodle, Than Bros, Alladdin’s Fallafel, Gyrocery, Cedars, Cafe Solstice, Hawaiian BBQ, Nasai, Tokyo Garden, Thai-ger Room, Shalimar, Taste of India, Big Time, Shultzy’s, Pochi’s, Oasis, Yunnie’s, Memo’s… Too many choices for inexpensive food. I haven’t had a reason to dine in the U-District on a regular basis for a decade. Here’s hoping these sessions grow to become a regular thing.
And for the white people, there is a Chipotle.
haha, i was reading your list and I was going to reply and mention Chipotle… but then you did.
