oh…ok so whats the max non perm av size can be? cuz im still confused.
160 x 64 is the maximum dimensions size for a non-prem av. the maximum file size is around 19 kb. you should be able to check because you’re not a prem.
allrighty thanks guys
guys idk if this has been asked here already but, can someone explain to me how I add text to an animated .gif?? On the one I’m working on I just want to add text in the last frames but idk how. Any help plz?
If you have ImageReady
-Open the .GIF file in ImageReady
-Go to frame 1 in the Animation Window [if you don’t see it, you can open it from the WINDOW menu. Located in the same bar as FILE, EDIT, IMAGE, etc.]
-Grab the Text tool and draw a bounding box with it. Just click and drag to create a box where your text is going.
-Type in your text.
Now click the other frames to make sure your text shows up. If not, highlight all the frames in the ANIMATION window [you can select frame 1, hold SHIFT and select the last frame to highlight them all at once], click the eyeball in your layers menu where your text is at. Click it off then click it on again. By doing so, this should put the text in all the frames.
Hope that helps. If you need a visual, I can whip one up but only if you need it.
I understand what you’re saying but there is one problem…whenever i try to use the Text Tool on the first frame it won’t let me it says “The active tool cannot be used in an optimized image”.What can I do?
Oh, your working in the OPTIMIZED mode. In that same window where you have your .GIF, there should be small tabs that say OPTIMIZED and ORIGINAL [I think. It’s been awhile since I worked in ImageReady].
Click ORIGINAL to put the text into it.
OPTIMIZED is basically what your final product will look like if/when you decide to tweak with the settings, such as colors, dither, etc lotta crap. LoL.
ah ok yeah it showing the text now thx but I got another prob: my gif has 69 layers
and I just want the text to appear from 65-69 with appearing on the rest of the layers,how do I do that? (thx for your help btw)
Select frames 65-69 [you can hold CTRL+left click to select individually, or use SHIFT as mentioned above for all at once]. Then turn the layer with your text ON [click the eye on].
If you want to turn the text off on the other layers, select frames 1-64 [use SHIFT. CTRL method would take too long], and click the text layer OFF [click the eye off].
OOOHH,thx a lot man. yeah it working like you said.sorry for asking so many questions thx again:tup:
No prob. Glad you got it. B)
for step 5, i cant find the part where i change the settings, where are they?
^^; i dont have (or atleast see) that box for some reason on my CS4
Edit: nm, i found it, it was a really small block in the corner ^^;
there isnt a feather option under select?
It’s under SELECT->MODIFY->FEATHER.
ok, when i hit ctrl left click on the render, it wont let me go to modify, it stays grey and wont let me select it. I ctrl A which let me go to modify but wouldnt let me feather.
Try CTRL+LEFT CLICK on render, then hit CTRL+ALT+D. If that doesn’t work, it should bring up a message window saying why it won’t allow you to feather.
Nope, nothin is popping up. Could it be because im using a trial vers. of CS4?
I don’t think so.
Take a printscreen while on your RENDER layer so I can have a look.
