Phoenix Teleport+Flight Mode glitch

you missed the part where i’m flying and doing ground normals

Spencer’s beta assist could work wonders with this. Here’s a simple setup:

S > super jump, j.M-M-H-d+H, Spencer-?, Flight, j.H xx Teleportation

Wire Grapple causes the opponent to recover standing, which keeps them from rolling out of the mix-up. I don’t know good Phoenix combos, so I’ll leave it to someone else to figure out the optimal way to use this.

Huh. That’s pretty interesting. I’ve been messing around with this. A few things I’ve found…

  • It’s flight to either :l: teleport or :m: teleport.
  • Right after you reappear from the teleport but before you continue to fly, there are a few frames that look to be grounded.
  • The ground normals can still chain together and combo even.
  • No ground or air specials, Hypers, or snapbacks can be done in this weird state between planes
  • All ground normals can be done, even the slide, :f:+:h:, and the overhead (which is weird to do btw) with the exception of :s: (which is a shame. would love to see what would happen with this)
  • If you put the computer to all guard, it registers the :d: normals as crounching attacks and blocks them low.
  • You can still call assists
  • After you finish the ground chains, you simply fall back to the ground.

I’ve been messing around with this a little bit. I’m trying to see if I can combo after you fall back to the ground after you do the ground chain in the air. I’ll get back later and see if I can find anything groundbreaking.

EDIT* Whatever you do while in this state, DO NOT slide into grab. After you perform a throw in that state between planes, you’ll be stuck in that state for about 10 in-game seconds and will lose the ability to move or use specials, or hypers or unfly out of this state.

Oh wait… no… you can get hit out of that state too.

You can also block, but you get stuck looking like you’re in block stun.

This is fucking weird.

you can unfly cancel the ground chain so of course you can combo

also you do team super or xfactor

more a mix up opportunity to go high and low.

Doesn’t another character have a glitch like this too?

so you can’t perform the launcher after a series in this state? does she perform j.S instead & cancel the fly state? being 500 miles from my consoles I can’t check the possibilities. with the nerfing of most all the tri jumps, this seems a lot better.

You can’t use S or any special moves in that state. You have to end Flight to continue the combo after a ground chain. There seems to be a small window where you can actually get aerial attacks after ending Flight, but I don’t know how useful that is.

cr.:l: cr.:m: cr.:h: xx unfly -> j.:h: (just hit :h:) -> s.:h: f.:h: :s: -> whatever

You can convert the low from this glitch into a full combo that will probably do more damage than her normal BnB.

I need to test if this works with dark phoenix too.
