^Last time I was in the PI SFIV arcade had JUST dropped but no one in Manila had it yet… so I would read the last couple pages and talk to KaneWarhead as he organized SFIV tourneys before.

The Ranking Battle seasons are probably the best opportunity for players to get tournament experience and prove themselves to the community.

What is a Ranking Battle season?
A Ranking Battle season, or “Ranbat” season, is a series of tournaments where the top placers accumulate points in addition to the prize money in the tournament. Whoever has the cumulative highest amount of points at the end of the Ranking Battle season is the Ranking Battle season champion. It also seeds them for any major event coming.

When do the Ranking Battles take place?
Once every month.

What games are in the Ranking Battles?
Super Street Fighter 4.

How do you enter a Ranking Battle?
Simply show up to venue on any of the dates of the Ranking Battle season to enter that particular Ranbat. You can enter as many or as few as you’d like.

Rules:

  • Singles
  • Entrance Fee P100
  • All characters are allowed(including console)
  • Character switching allowed. (You can only switch mid 3/5 game when you lose)
  • Double Elimination(tentative, depends on number of participants)
  • Each match in the tournament is a 3/5 game
  • Eacth match is 2/3 set
  • 99 seconds
  • Bring your own sticks. Wireless sticks/controllers not allowed
  • xbox 360 Controllers / Arcade Sticks provided(if available)
  • For Sticks, any kind of macro is not allowed
  • Turbo Functions not allowed
  • For Controllers, you can set buttons to 3P or 3K. Any other macro are not allowed
  • Registration via here or through facebook
  • Tourney starts at 2 pm
  • Points are awarded as follows: 1st (10 points), 2nd (7 points), 3rd (5 Points), 4th (3 Points), 5th and the rest (1 Point)
  • Tournament Director has the Final Decision

I play it (only in tournaments!!), I just hate it and think it’s a stupid beginner-mode game, but it is fun to beat people with Pink T. Hawk. :tup:

Naaaah just me, but that does remind me that since KOF is pretty dead in Manila and there is no ST or VF AT ALL, I meant to practice up on some marvel since there is actually competition in it there.

After checking the sf4philippenes site, it seems like there were a couple arcades that had SF4 in the mall of asia. I will be visiting Manila soon and will not be able to do much in in-city travelling, so I was wondering if there was actually a scene over there?

Damn late reply haha… Anyway, thanks for the initial warm welcome during my visit there! :rofl: I definitely enjoyed my stay there because I was away from the busy work in Manila, have my own schedule with no one to disturb me and of course our marvel hype with the gang! :rock: I already miss my stay at Iloilo :wasted:
