I will be in Manila (makati, specifically) for two weeks starting Friday, November 12th. I don’t like Makati very much, and during the week my GF will be working so I have nothing better to do than go to arcades.
What is the best arcade in Makati? I don’t remember, Glorietta?
Will there be any tournaments in Super SFIV? I freaking hate that game and swore my last tournament appearance would be the last game I ever played of it, but I am willing to break that promise if it means I can make some new Filipino friends. :karate:
How do I get from Makati to mega if I am communting by myself? My tagalog sucks still but I can handle the FX or the MRT.
So anybody want to meet up? My main gaming passion is Super Turbo, also play KOF, SFA3, and probably some Marvel by the time I am there…
Hey brothers. I’m Filipino but I live in Los Angeles and I like reading this thread because I’m always wondering if they like Street Fighter a lot in the Phillippines. It seems like you guys do.
So do people play a lot there? I hope they do. Third Strike and Super Turbo are my favorite games. I also play SSF4 but just because it’s the newest. If you guys want to check it out. I hold gatherings in my garage every Friday at my house.
Hindi na po! since '08 yung last arcade ko, ala ako idea what ssf4 play style is,so susubukan ko this time kung kaya ko pa mag laro, sobrang out of sync nko,pag ng kalaro tau turuan mko, hopefully may matutunan akong tricks sa inyo, ngaun lng ako mag kakatime mag laro, may tourney daw sana mkasali ako, mlapit lng sa work eh, hehehe
please be nice- syempre RYU gagamitin ko, or akuma - kung aabot sa yang pede cguro…lol
Yes, you can get to Mega easily from Makati. If you’re in Glorietta, go to the MRT station (the direction should be “To Monumento” or North-bound). Take a train and get off at the Shaw or Ortigas station. Those are within walking distance of Megamall.
In Makati, there’s SF4 Vanilla and Tekkens at Time Zone in Glorietta 4 (near the cinemas). There’s also MvC2 in SM Makati Foodcourt (a short walking distance from Glorietta).
For meet-ups, most of the locals use the SF4 boards. There are SF/KOF players there: sf4philippines • Index page
My name is Saka, and of course Ako Pinoy, pero, I can’t speak or write Tagalog too well… kaunti lang.
Anywho, I am leaving for the Philippines on October 16th, and I was wondering about playing with the SSFIV Pinoy community.
I main Sakura, and Sub Cammy. If you see on the Xbox 360 Leader boards, if I can remember correctly, I am on the top 20 highest BP (Currently 7000BP) with Sakura in the United States.
I also play BB:CS and post on the Dustloop forums, and I’ll also be playing with some of them.
Any Filipino Marvel players around. We’re trying to drum up support for MvC3 over at SFIV Philippines so it can have its own section once the site changes to 2dfighters.ph or whatever the new name will be.
^^ Yep! representing from Bacolod! Hehe, merchie keeps on updating me of stuffs, scenes, almost at least once in a week about Iloilo and Bacolod all the time through YM or in FB.
Hi guys, not next monday, but the monday after that (the 15th), I will be back in the Philippines and looking for games. Would LOVE to play ST or HDR, might be willing to be talked into playing SFIV…I play KOF 98 and 2k2, Marvel (badly) and Alpha 3 and older crap that doesn’t exist in Manilla…Also, trying to learn KOF XIII too.
I will be in Makati during the week of the 15th, so I’d love to make plans sometime that is an easy commute for a kano from there. (Bleh I don’t like makati…) Just post up or PM me.
Yeah, Marvel and KOF XIII are your best bets now. The older KOF cabs are mostly crap/nonexistent know… the really good/serious players are either playing XIII at the arcade, or 2002 UM on console.
From Makati, ride the MRT train (north-bound or “To Monumento”) and get off at Shaw or Ortigas station. That’s walking distance from SM Megamall. There, ask for directions to Time Zone arcade (KOF, SF4, MvC2… also MvC2 at the adjacent arcade, Worlds of Fun) or Club Synergy Arcade (MvC2).
