I always trust your word, as it’s been right several times for me before, but this just isn’t the case. I’ve played a lot of bad Vergils online. It will cross you up.
I’m over 1000 activations and I have not had a single random cross up. I can get it to cross up from ground, if you TK or chicken guard it, and normal and super jump height if you’re within ~1/8th of the screen (and I can air throw him in response to the super flash at almost all of these ranges). These all occur as or before Vergil becomes invisible, none after. I also cannot get the Dimension Slash to be anything but a true block string unlike Phantom Dance, block the first hit, let go of the stick, everything is auto blocked.
So, a few more circumstances for it to cross up in than I originally thought, but they all occur before Vergil becomes invisible. Does anyone have any video proof of a cross up after Vergil is invisible?
I’ve never had it crossup after I had blocked atleast one hit of it…the crossup occurs on the first hit. Happens almost everytime someone decides to do a dimension slash, especially when Vergil is coming in.
So has anyone found a way to prevent dimension slash from crossing up. I done some testing and it’s really random. it’s really annoying because at my last tournament i played this dude and as soon as Vergil came in he would activate the super and i would randomly get hit, then he would proceed to x factor and kill.
Also raw tagging wasn’t a option a lot of the time and after testing it some times dimension slash will beat raw tags. So i don’t really want take the risk in future.
Any help would be appreciated
I’ve had both cross me up several times even when I stand block.
It more or less has to do with your position on the screen.
The supers suck. Especially Wesker’s. Just press a button that isn’t L and he will probably get hit. Any projectile will do the trick. Idk about Vergil, though. Corner is where you shouldn’t be, that is where it crosses you up.
Yeah if you know maximum wesker is coming just do some attack, projectile or invincible move that will beat it out. Projectiles usually won’t work on Dimension Slash unless they’re super projectiles, but IIRC attacks and invincible moves can beat it out.
I use both of these supers as my main poke strategy sometimes because I have times I don’t know when either super will cross up or not, so chances are my opponent doesn’t either. Many a game has been won by a corner crouching opponent suddenly get crossed up at the last Wesker bounce(even if they block the first few parts) and then I XF hit confirm it.
Some people call it scrubby, and call me random. It’s not me who looks scrubby if it hits and I kill you off it is it?
Also of note, I’ve had plenty of instances where Wesker actually lands proportionally the same distance from the opponent, on the other side of the screen from where he started. I have no idea what causes this, but it has saved my life a few times when they go in to punish me and they go the wrong way.
i really wouldn’t suggest using those as a poke. you’re burning a meter for a chance of crossing up, and if you don’t cross up you get killed for your trouble. it’s just not reliable/safe enough to use randomly.
I think vergil’s super only crosses up randomly on really tiny characters. Maybe due to the hitboxes and their positioning, it’s not a true blockstring on them?
Vergil actually moves around a lot during Dimensional Slash, that’s why it crosses up. You can see where he is at any moment by the slight blur on screen. It’s super hard to track though, and might as well be random.
Same for Phantom Dance. The blur is where he “is” at the moment, so if the initial hit from the front misses, then the second one will be coming from behind.
