I’m just not sure if the damage can be lowed only 10%. If that’s it, then I totally understand where all of the other arguments are coming from.
I just don’t think that damage reduction would solve problems. Zero could still do pretty much more damage than anyone else along with better screen control and mixups. X-Factor would still give huge bonuses. Characters would still have stupid mixups on incoming characters, making the first hit snowball into a round.
Come on man, don’t you have any faith in human ability at all? People were already doing lightning loops at Final Round (and not just Sam’s Club aka Atashiwa aka Merururu aka Mihe). People have done harder things in the past and in fact still do much harder things in other games (Benimaru has a combo that’s the exact same input, but with stricter timing and height requirements and no buster to fix that for him).

Ironically I sound like I’m contradicting myself since I just praised human ability earlier in my post, but the difference is that the above statement is with regards to muscle memory, which is something that can be honed to greater lengths than most games will ever require, while now we’re talking about choice reaction time (unless you want to just take a complete guess at which way to block and only deal with simple reaction time). This game has plenty of mixups that you simply cannot correctly react to, simply because you’re not given enough time to recognize which version they’re doing (or in some cases, given the time to process distances/timings to know if something will or won’t crossup. Thus the term “ambiguous” crossups).
But I’m just nitpicking here. It bugs me when people underestimate (and overestimate) what humans can do.
